| Moore Cameras to Focus on Polls in Ohio, Florida

From The Australian :

US filmmaker Michael Moore plans to have hundreds of cameras outside polling places in Ohio and Florida on election day to watch for attempts to suppress voter turnout.

The director of the anti-Bush documentary Fahrenheit 9/11 announced today that a total of 1200 professional and non-professional cameramen, filmmakers and videographers would take their cameras to polling places in the two presidential battleground states, especially in minority communities.

I’m putting those who intend to suppress the vote on notice: Voter intimidation and suppression will not be tolerated,” Moore said.

Moore, who was in Columbus, Ohio for a rally today, planned visits to Ohio and Florida on election day, his publicist Terri Hardesty said.

I confess I misread the article at first: I thought it said

US filmmaker Michael Moore plans to have hundreds of cameras outside polling places in Ohio and Florida on election day to suppress voter turnout

Then again, I’m not sure I wasn’t right the first time.

So any GOP voters in those states, be warned. If you don’t want a Moore-ish expose on your business, your family, and your children, don’t wear a Bush/Cheney badge. The Goons that Michael Moore is always accompanied by are a relatively minor danger, the major one is that your face, name and address will be publicised along with a comment like “another Nazi voter”, “hate speech in action” or something similar.

“Voter intimidation and suppression will not be tolerated” - No, they will be enforced.

In Australia, such intimidatory actions would be illegal, and punished by hefty jail terms.

But maybe I’m maligning the man - perhaps he’s just doing an honest documentary, totally unbiassed and objective like his previous efforts.

Aww heck. I think you should just wear that much more Bush Cheney parafenalia. You know the Kerry crap will be out. Just don’t participate in any suppression of the vote. Feel free to excersise your rites of free speech (respectfully) and don’t react to the Kerrites.
