2004 US Presidential Election
October 27, 2004
Polls | Um, About Those Late-Breaking Undecideds . . .
Rasmussen has the good news for President Bush:
Among voters who made up their minds in the Spring of 2004 or sooner, Kerry is favored by a 51% to 48% margin. This obviously includes some who decided to vote for anybody-but-Bush since 36% of voters made up their mind before the Democratic nominee was selected. Pat Caddell, Carter’s erstwhile pollster, said essentially the same on Hannity and Colmes last night. Undecideds can break for the incumbent in Presidential races as a risk-management stratagem; the devil you know vs. the devil you don’t, if you will. (Not that I think the President is a devil; in the sense of the Apostle Peter’s writing, he is a saint.) Steve Bragg Posted by: Steve from DOUBLE TOOTHPICKS This doesn’t exactly square with Kerry’s momentum in the polls over the last month or so, unless he has been turning Bush voters straight to Kerry voters (and skipping the “undecided” middle man altogether). Posted by: rdelephant May I suggest the undecided voter either is completely unaware of the political process or dead from the neck up? There hasn’t been a clearer choice between opposite ends of the political spectrum since I was born. More likely the undecided voter has attention-deficit disorder (as in “No one is paying attention to me!!!”) They want to be interviewed so they can explain their logic in not being able to choose between the right-wing nutball and the left-wing wimp. Imagine, someone asking you your opinion? How wonderful! How exciting! I’ve found the best way to get them off the fence is to shoot them. Posted by: torpedo_eight T-8, :) Some phony sob stole the Bush sign out of my yard. Then I find out it’s happened all over town. WTF, losers. I notice the few Kerry/Edwards sign are not being tampered with. Besides the fact that it’s not our style to fuk with people’s property, the Kerry/Edwards signs tell us who is willing to spit in the faces of every Veteran, past, present, and future. I guess if these socialists want a classless society, they’re off to good start, cause a Kerry/Edwards sign in your yard is about as classless as you can get. Posted by: No Party Post a comment
