2004 US Presidential Election

Kerry | Security Council Members Deny Meeting Kerry
The Washington Times reports that U.N. ambassadors from several nations are disputing assertions by Democratic presidential candidate Sen. John Kerry that he met for hours with all members of the U.N. Security Council just a week before voting in October 2002 to authorize the use of force in Iraq. From California Yankee. Ok, we’ll ignore the bad war, the thousands of ongoing fatalities in Iraq while we ignore Bin Laden, the sunken economy, the gratuitous tax giveaways, and any number of other feints and sleight-of-hands this administration has pulled over the last 4 years…..but whoa!! Kerry possibly didn’t talk directly to the U.N. reps of Colombia, Mexico, and Bulgaria when he visited the U.N. in 2002….yeah, that’s earthshaking stuff. Posted by: Jatsby Well Jatsby one of the claims made by the Kerry camp is that he will be SO much better at diplomacy and mending fences particualrly in Europe and guess what? Global leaders REALLY do not like it if you lie about diplomacy with them. Posted by: Dan Kauffman Jatsby - Tell my buddies in Taskforce121 about how we are ignoring Bin Laden. Tell the family of Pat Tillman how we are ignoring Bin Laden. Just because the newsies are too weak to embed with the toughest soldiers on the planet doesn’t mean that Bin Laden and his minion aren’t still sprinting from cave to cave and rock to rock to avoid that laser pointer. Gratuitous tax giveaways? They put $1200 of my money back into my bank account where it belongs. If you didn’t see any money coming back perhaps it’s because you didn’t pay taxes. Funny thing about tax breaks, they only affect those who pay them in the first place. any number of other feints and sleight-of-hands this administration has pulled over the last 4 years? Hmmm…liberating 50 million people, preventing another attack on American soil while apprehending upwards of 100 self avowed followers of Bin Laden within our borders, reversing the dot com bust recession and leading our country in the fastest economic expansion in 30 years. If THAT is feints and sleight of hand then I’ll take 4 more years of it thank you. Oh…and the real thrust of your note…you forgot a country near and dear to the American Leftist’s heart, France. That’s right…he didn’t talk to them either after telling the NATION that he did. Hmmm…could that be a misunderstanding between the “good* Senator and the Security Council? Perhaps some confusion, I mean he could have just talked to their staff members and NOT to the ambassadors themselves. Or…maybe it is what it is…a flat out lie in a blatant attempt to grab power. Get over yourself. Posted by: Wayne Fielder Wayne - Not that JealousJatsby doesn’t need some CourseCorrection (which he does), but according to what I’ve found this morning, Kerry DID meet with: (1)Singapore - a City-State. NOT a member of the UNSC. OHH, I get it now! France IS the Security Council! What was I thinking? Jatsby! What were you thinking? I’m surprised that I didn’t find CAMBODIA on that list of United Nations Security Council members that confirm they have spoken to Mr. Kerry. But, but… CAMBODIA ain’t on that list of Security Council Members either! Maybe he considers that he has spoken to the American People as speaking to UNSC members? Nah. Couldn’t be. He said FOREIGN didn’t he? Jatsby, Jatsby, Jatsby… HOWever do you suppose some of these Countries’ Leaders feel about Senator Kerry LYING about meeting with them? On matters of Diplomacy? Yup. I’d jump right up if I were from: Chile, China, Germany, Pakistan, the Phillipines, Romania, the Russian Federation, Spain, Great Brittain, Algeria, Angola, Benin or Brazil. Personally, I don’t know how anyone could actually admit to wanting to vote for a PROVEN LIAR. But HEY! Don’t say we didn’t warn you. SENATOR KERRY LIED about ME, and about 2.5 MILLION other men and women just like myself, when he said we were monsters, rapists, murderers, and baby-killers. And he continues to maintain “I told the truth”, despite being shown how devastating that was to our POWs, whose only weapon was their honor. And he had to take that from them too, besides delaying their return. “I spoke to ALL the members of the United Nations Security Council” IS A LIE. He has been caught in another LIE. Live with it, Jatsby. And don’t bother trying to spin his way out of that. Posted by: Cap'n DOC A liar is a liar is a socialist/communist. “If for no other reason, I will not vote for John Kerry because it would be spitting in the face of all of our Veterans, past, present, and future.” Posted by: No Party It’s the irony that’s killing me: Bush is supposed to be the liar, yet those who accuse him can’t point to a single lie. Meanwhile the candidate they support is a certifiable fabulist who gets caught telling whoppers every week. Geez Louise. :jackson Posted by: jackson zed Jatsby whined, “Ok, we’ll ignore the bad war,” The “bad war” ? Uhhhh, are you a Islamic fundamentalist? Jatsby continued to whine, “the thousands of ongoing fatalities in Iraq” Lower fatality rates than any other war, while accomplishing more. Most of the dead are terrorists and their supporters. Jatsby whined, “while we ignore Bin Laden,” Prove we are ignoring him. What do you base your ignorant comment on? The fact that we haven’t shown his body? I think the mf’r is dead. In little pieces, rotting under tons of rubble, and we’re chasing a ghost. But on that chase, we are getting the rest of his cronies. It’s a long shot that he is alive, but we’re looking anyway. Jatsby whined, “the sunken economy,” I run multiple businesses and our economy doesn’t suck. Any tax relief is greatly appreciated and needed, by myself and my employees. Jatsby whined, ” the gratuitous tax giveaways,” Yeah right, just think where we’d be if we hadn’t received some relief. Why do you work so hard to undermine us? Jatsby whined, “and any number of other feints and sleight-of-hands this administration has pulled over the last 4 years…..” This has been the most transparent administration in decades. The honor and integrity this president has re-installed in the White House was worth the price of admission. Jatsby whined, “but whoa!! Kerry possibly didn’t talk directly to the U.N. reps of Colombia, Mexico, and Bulgaria when he visited the U.N. in 2002….yeah, that’s earthshaking stuff.” No, it really isn’t. He’s a lying mf’r. Why would it be any surprise if he’s caught lying again. It’s his best known trait and he does it well. “If for no other reason, I will not vote for John Kerry because it would be spitting in the faces of every Veteran, past, present, and future.” Posted by: No Party Bush: “I never said I’m not worried about ‘sama. That’s a ex-ag-er-a-shun.” Truth: (Roll clip of lying cic.) “Ah’m just not that concerned about ‘im.” From the U.N.: “Bulgaria, Cameroon, Guinea, Mexico and Syria were elected this morning by the General Assembly to serve as non-permanent members of the Security Council. Their two-year terms will begin on 1 January 2002, when they will fill the seats vacated 31 December by Bangladesh, Jamaica, Mali, Tunisia and Ukraine. Colombia, Ireland, Mauritius, Norway and Singapore will continue to serve as non-permanent Council members during 2002 for the second of their two-year terms.” The permanent (not rotating or non-permanent) members of the council are the U.S., Russia, France, Germany and China and they were all met with and say so, if you spend any time looking for it. And it is a Bad War; there was no reason to invade a country that posed no threat to the U.S., had Nothing to do with 9/11, was isolated and had no allies…none. You may disagree with me and I recognize the infinite range of opinions that we’re entitled to, but that’s mine; it is a Bad War and every G.I. that’s been killed or maimed or wounded in Iraq I consider a stain on this Presidency and the AWOL CiC at the head of it. Jackson, if you don’t believe that Bush gets caught lying almost daily, about important life-threatening things, then your head is in the sand and no matter what you’re shown or told will ever get through to you. The U.S. pays among the lowest taxes of any industrial nation in the world, and especially while this damn war is siphoning off lives, money, oil, and the Reserves we cannot afford the same kind of tax-breaks that Reagan tried, again with ruinous effects on the economy that lasted for years. Perhaps someone that owns “multiple businesses” does directly benefit from some of them, but a majority of people don’t. By no stretch of the imagination is this administration “transparent”, nor do they continue to be. Bush has flip-flopped continuously on important matters, including fighting against a 9/11 commission to now taking credit for it. Rice is now campaigning nationwide instead of doing her job, and thankfully the polls are daily showing that the current administration is in for a rude awakening on election day. I will not miss this President, and rue the days ahead when he’ll be on MSNBC and FOX as a political commentator, with his Nixon venom and his Quayle mentality, “ya see“‘ing his way through another non-reality based ramble. Even Drudge has dropped this thing from his page (probably seen the further acknowledgements); if the U.N. item is your October Surprise, it’s pretty damn lame. I’m expecting Bush/Cheney to show up in Baghdad for breakfast with the troops, hopefully in front of another “Mission Accomplished” poster…. Posted by: Jatsby Jatsby - I’ve only scanned your post - it hurts my eyes to try to read it - but two things. First, Bush didn’t say he wasn’t worried about Osama. He said he wasn’t concerned with his current location. Please try not to use quotation marks when you are paraphrasing/guessing. Second, Kerry didn’t say he met with only the permanent members. He repeatedly and clearly stated that he met with the entire Security Council, including Germany (which not only isn’t a permanent member, but wasn’t even on the Security Council then). Further, not even all of the permanent members report meeting with him, and they will neither confirm nor deny his story. Posted by: samuelv “I went to meet with the members of the Security Council in the week before we voted. I went to New York. I talked to all of them to find out how serious they were about really holding Saddam Hussein accountable.” ~ John Kerry, Presidential Debate October 8, 2004 “And she looked at me from her hospital bed and she just looked at me and she said, Remember: integrity, integrity, integrity Those are the three words that she left me with.” ~John Kerry, Presidential Debate October 13, 2004 Kerry is a pathological liar with no integrity. Posted by: RL Jatsby, are you saying that paying more tax to the federal government is a good thing? Do you beleive that Kerry should raise taxes immediately if he gets elected? Just exactly what do you mean, sir? Posted by: skip Of course Kerry will raise taxes and break the promise he made during the second debate. He PROMISES to double the nation’s special forces plus train and equip them. He PROMISES to add two new regular Army divisions and train and equip them. He promises to nationalize health care. He promises to expand the Department of Homeland Security. He promises to beef up airline security — which means he’s going to have to add personnel to the government payroll to do that. He promises to expand PELL grants. He promises to expand stem cell research (and I’m sure a healthy dose of government research grants is part of that plan). On a side note here, his running mate has even PROMISED that those who are paralyzed will walk! And JOHN KERRY WILL DO THIS WITHOUT RAISING THE TAX BURDEN ON FOLKS WHO MAKE UNDER $200,000 — in fact, if you’re middle or lower class — HE‘LL GIVE YOU A TAX BREAK! Yeah — and I got some prime Mississippi swamp land for sale cheap! Only the desparate could possibly believe Mr. Kerry. Posted by: Mark Post a comment
