Bush | Bush's IQ Greater Than Kerry's

The New York Times reports that George W. Bush probably had a higher I.Q. than John Kerry:

That, at least, is the conclusion of Steve Sailer, a conservative columnist at the Web magazine Vdare.com and a veteran student of presidential I.Q.’s. During the last presidential campaign Mr. Sailer estimated from Mr. Bush’s SAT score (1206) that his I.Q. was in the mid-120’s, about 10 points lower than Al Gore’s.

Mr. Kerry’s SAT score is not known, but now Mr. Sailer has done a comparison of the intelligence tests in the candidates’ military records. They are not formal I.Q. tests, but Mr. Sailer says they are similar enough to make reasonable extrapolations.

Mr. Bush’s score on the Air Force Officer Qualifying Test at age 22 again suggests that his I.Q was the mid-120’s, putting Mr. Bush in about the 95th percentile of the population, according to Mr. Sailer. Mr. Kerry’s I.Q. was about 120, in the 91st percentile, according to Mr. Sailer’s extrapolation of his score at age 22 on the Navy Officer Qualification Test.

Linda Gottfredson, an I.Q. expert at the University of Delaware, called it a creditable analysis said she was not surprised at the results or that so many people had assumed that Mr. Kerry was smarter. “People will often be misled into thinking someone is brighter if he says something complicated they can’t understand,” Professor Gottfredson said.

Almost, but not quite: people will often be misled about someone’s intelligence because of how they look and sound on television.

I always wondered why Yale-grad Kerry went to Boston COllege law school, rather than a top tier school. And why he has refused to release his college records and SATs (not to mention hsi military records and his tax returns).

If you ever met Jack Welch of GE, you would quickly understand that a first class brain doesn’t necessarily show up as a first class speaker. And the converse is true—many a great speaking style masks a second-rate intellect—Joe Biden, for example….

I can take aguess at what Kerry’s SAT looks like. A lot of unanswered questions.

Ok some of the word poblems are trick questions. But the straight math problems, though they can be solved with different apporoaches, have one answer - and every possible way to solve the problem does not have to be tried when you know you are gonna get the same answer.

Intelligence is basicly measured by ability to see through to a solution without distraction. Einstein was smart not because he could more quickly do a math problem 6 times in his head. He went with what he knew and discarded the rest, knowing there would be more questions to follow.

****“People will often be misled into thinking someone is brighter if he says something complicated they can’t understand,” Professor Gottfredson said.****

People will often be mislead by lying politicians and liberal media. The last year or so is a fine example of epic perportions.

“If for no other reason, I will not vote for John Kerry because it would be spitting in the faces of all of our Veterans, past, present, and future.”

They didn’t have SAT tests in foreign schools.

John Kerry does have a SAL score (Stupid A** Liberal) which is up around 100. He finished in the top position on the bell curve.

Misunderestimated. Simple as that.

Try this on for size:

Bush 311
Kerry 227

Of lesser import:

Bush 52%
Kerry 47%

Bush carries Colorado, New Mexico, Nevada, Minnesota (Yes, Minnesota), Iowa, Wisconsin, Hawaii (Yes, Hawaii), Ohio and Florida.

Kerry carries Pennsylvania, Michigan and the usual People’s Republics of the Northeast and People’s Republics of the West Coast (except hawaii, astonishingly enough).

What’s more, There is the very real possibility that Kerry could lose New Hampshire and the outside possibility that he could lose New Jersey.

I think Florida is the only one that will be close enough to warrant a legal challenge (Maybe New Mexico, too) but even reversed, the Electoral Victory goes to Bush.

I just don’t think there are enough skeletal remains in either closet to have an 11th Hour Bombshell to greatly skew current numbers.

We’ll see on Wednesday.

IQ has nothing to do with good or bad, For instance, many evil serial killers are known to have a very high IQ.
