| UK Guardian Columnist calls for Direct Action

Not satisfied with the results of their “Politically Neutral” Operation Clark County, at least one Guardian Columnist has urged more direct action. From The Guardian :

Throughout the debate, John Kerry, for his part, looks and sounds a bit like a haunted tree. But at least he’s not a lying, sniggering, drink-driving, selfish, reckless, ignorant, dangerous, backward, drooling, twitching, blinking, mouse-faced little cheat. And besides, in a fight between a tree and a bush, I know who I’d favour.

On November 2, the entire civilised world will be praying, praying Bush loses. And Sod’s law dictates he’ll probably win, thereby disproving the existence of God once and for all. The world will endure four more years of idiocy, arrogance and unwarranted bloodshed, with no benevolent deity to watch over and save us. John Wilkes Booth, Lee Harvey Oswald, John Hinckley Jr - where are you now that we need you?

Given the description of Bush, reasonable people would doubt he’s speaking rhetorically.

UPDATE: From The Guardian October 24:

The final sentence of a column in The Guide on Saturday caused offence to some readers. The Guardian associates itself with the following statement from the writer.

Charlie Brooker apologises for any offence caused by his comments relating to President Bush in his TV column, Screen Burn. The views expressed in this column are not those of the Guardian. Although flippant and tasteless, his closing comments were intended as an ironic joke, not as a call to action - an intention he believed regular readers of his humorous column would understand. He deplores violence of any kind.”

I’d say Booker has given the undecideds a great reason to vote for GW.

Think what fun it will be to watch such puerile, pusillanimous quislings (who are more representative of the Kedwards supporters then one might imagine) dissemble over the next four years.

I guess these sliimy limeys don’t understand which side actually has the guns! They might stir the sensibilities of someone on the edge, and one of them will be killed. If President Bush is attacked all hell will break loose on The Guardian….wouldn’t want to be near those offices for sure. Some on the far right are really out there, and these pansies are egging them on! Bad Mistake, but the liberals are so deserving of whats coming.

Mr. Booker -

Booth is dead…Oswald is dead…and Hinkley is still “recovering” from his illness.

Should I remind you that if it wasn’t for us you would now be speaking German? Should I further remind you that we have kicked your country out of our country twice? Before you start throwing around your backhanded threats to our President I should also remind you that, unlike your country, we respect the Right to keep and bear firearms.

I’m so sick of all the rhetoric…if these people want war then DO IT and let’s get it over with. We’ll win and can then get on with things.

Utterly appalling vitriol. How do calmer, reasoned folks respond to this kind of verbal bombthrowing? We must come to grips with nature and quality of response to the p.c. ‘diversity’ crowd that avers the need for terrorist-type action to advance their views.
