2004 US Presidential Election
October 18, 2004
| Operation "Clark County" Update
There are very few opportunities for a good belly-laugh in this presidential campaign. From an Australian viewpoint, the issue’s far too important to take too seriously though. So, updating a previous post, here is the latest from the Guardian in the UK. You can guess the general tenor of the US reponse by the Guardian’s Title: Dear Limey assholes Although a minority are shrill, incoherent and vituperative, the vast majority are genuinely hilarious and witty (and even more vituperative). Clearly there are Americans, like myself, that don’t give a SH*T about being “nuanced”. REALLY FUNNY. Thanks Alan! Posted by: Max Darkside Choosing to publish these responses… and titling it the way they did… raises my opinion of the Guardian. Ya gotta admire their chutzpah. Or whatever they use in Britain instead. Posted by: TBox TBox : My feelings exactly. the Gruaniad has gone up quite a few notches in my estimation for the way they’ve handled this. Self-deprecating humour that means they don’t take themselves too seriously. Full Marx - er- Marks. Posted by: aebrain ..what a riot..this has got to be historic..my guess mm was righter than he`ll ever know..of course his sites were a little low..the show Nov 3 is going to be hilarious..hale-bop is on its return ..get your quarters..
