| Is Bush Worried?
From the Financial Times:
Mr. Bush made his first journey to the back of Air Force One in three years on Thursday to talk to the travelling press corps to say: “The debate phase of the campaign is over and now it’s a sprint to the finish. I’m enthusiastic about my chances…”

Considering the article cited is largely about the massive budget and trade deficits…a more accurate Bush response to the topic’s question might be, “What me, worry?” ala Alfred E. Neuman.
The trade data are expected to take the shine off third-quarter gross domestic product figures, released three days before Americans go to the polls on November 2.…some investment banks lowered their forecasts for US growth…
John Snow announced he would stop new investments in a federal retirement fund to avoid hitting the government’s $7,400bn debt limit promising to make good the shortfall once the borrowing limit was raised.
Analysts said lawmakers may have not wanted to raise the limit so close to the election but would be forced to do so soon after.
