Bush | National Rifle Association Endorses Bush

The Associated Press reports that the National Rifle Association endorsed President Bush for re-election:

The NRA plans to spend about $20 million in all, focused on 10 to 15 targeted states, with efforts including radio, television and newspaper ads, phone banks, door-to-door voter contacts, up to 10 million pieces of direct mail and election messages in magazines that go to the group’s 4 million members.

What a shock, I thought John Kerry (taller, with a full head of hair) posing with his shotgun and plaid jacket, was a natural shoe-in.

And then maybe not - whereas the rest of Kerry’s decisions hinge on the day of the week, his voting record on the 2nd Amendment is consistent. He’s against it.

Only he’s not straightforward enough to propose the repeal of the 2nd Amendment (the only legal way to change the document). He’d much rather gut the law by subterfuge.

Remember, when they come for your freedoms, they’ll always do it for ‘your own good’ or so you can’t hurt yourself or others. Only incredibly wise politicians and entertainers should be armed, not idiot hillbilly average citizens. And if you don’t know what an idiot hillbilly average citizen looks like, ask incredibly wise entertainer Michael Moore.

Where would us common riff raff be without incredibly wise politicians and entertainers to restrain us from injuring ourselves?

An endorsement from the NRA is like only slightly better than an endorsement by the North American Man Boy Love Association (in fact, I think they endorsed Bush also).

rdelephant, you are forgetting one small item. There are approximately 1,132,208 members of the NRA. Thats a hell of a lot of votes to consider.

Rdelephant is forgetting more than one small item. I didn’t think that it was possible for any poster on this site to be more stupid or dishonest than VinoTinto (RedWhine :)), but clearly I was wrong, which is extremely disappointing. I may have to quit coming to this site, because more and more frequently I am confronted by statements like this:

An endorsement from the NRA is like only slightly better than an endorsement by the North American Man Boy Love Association (in fact, I think they endorsed Bush also).

The fact that this poster has no idea what might be offensive about comparing representatives of the 60 million+ gun owners in the United States to a small group of degenerate pedophiles just goes to show how far away from the values of mainstream America the left really is. If this is the best rhetoric you can come up with, start your 2008 election plans now.

Do any reasonable liberals ever post here? Ever?!??

C’mon ebonic. rdelephant’s posts have mostly been not so much abusive, as incoherent, and childlike. Yes, I grant you that this one is pretty disgusting. Liberal’s post, Conservitive’s post, and apparently extraterrestrials have joined in. No bias against true ET’s intended.

I see I hit a home run with that one.

I also see that Ebonic Plague has Dick Cheney’s sense of humor. Poor guy. LOL

It doesn’t matter if there are a lot of members of the ARN. A crowd doesn’t legitimize a wrong idea.

Lets suppose that there appears an American association that supports the idea that America would be a better place if the mad cowboys were executed. Lets suppose that 2 millions Americans join the association. Shall we think that they defend a respectable idea?

Hitler won the elections in 1933 with millions of votes.

The fact that the ARN supports Bush should be a shame for the Republican Party.
