| Sen. Dayton Temporarily Closing Office, Citing Security Threat

The Associated Press reports that Sen. Mark Dayton, D-Minn., said his D.C. office will be closed through Election Day, because a top-secret intelligence report made him fear for his staff’s safety:

“I take this step out of extreme, but necessary, precaution to protect the lives and safety of my Senate staff and my Minnesota constituents, who might otherwise be visiting my Senate office in the next three weeks,” he said.

This is silliness.

Apparently Jim Bunning (R-KY) has also overreacted to a general warning issued by the Senate Sargeant at Arms calling for Senators and staffs to be careful and vigilant. He has said he has issued no specific warnings concerning any specific threats. (source: Salon.com)

something to keep in mind about Senator Bunning is that he is in a very hotly contested…er…contest for his seat. Dan Mongiardo is hot on his heels and has been dropping the “this guy is a loon” sound bite for sometime now. It appears that today it finally hit mainstream when ANOTHER individual came forward saying something to the effect that Bunning has onset Alzhiemers.

*sigh*…whatever. Hope he’s okay and as far as the election goes, ANYONE but a democrat. Bunning isn’t the brightest light on the board but at least he’s a hawk on the war. Can’t say that about Mongiardo who said the 911 attacks were “quite possibly the most brilliant acts of war ever concieved”.

trust me, Dayton is a nut job and a half…why people in this state voted for him is beyond me…
