Testing the sucky typekey. Posted by: elvispresley2k Arrgh, it figures the above got through. Anyway, the quote from the article with actual context:
ok, ep Posted by: elvispresley2k well it was a stupid thing to say. I actually have some sympathy for Kerry around this. The campaign trail must be both exhausting and bewildering. Reading the book Primary Colors provided an insight into this very trying endeavor. Yes, I agree that Kerry’s main problem remains but I understand how something that stupid could be uttered by someone who’s been on the go for days. Remember Muskie crying? How about Dukakis in the tank? There are some moments that just stand out. Do elections really turn on these special moments? I sincerely hope not. All that said, I don’t blame Bush & co for hammering Kerry with this. Were the tables turned the democrats would be relentless. How many political chatters have gloated over Bush’s verbal gaffes during the last four years? This turnabout, and that’s fairplay Posted by: skip Not sure what the point of your above post is, ep, but he DID say this, and he WAS mocked, very appropriately. He also told Diane sawyer that it was because when he said this it was “late at night” and he was “dead tired” Which, like everything else he says, is bullshit. It was at a speech at Marshall University at 1:20PM. He wasn’t in Cambodia at Christmas. The only thing “seared” in my mind is the fact that this guy is an empty suit.
