“I accept your nomination for Vice-President of the United States.”

Can we put all those conspiracy theories to rest now?

He’s very low-key, compared to Miller and other prime-time speakers. But he has managed to smile once or twice already.

He’s been interrupted by a protester - the crowd responded with chants of Four More Years.

I can’t tell if that’s a smirk or a smile Cheney is wearing.

But, man. After Miller, Cheney is looking like the dullest knife in the drawer.

He’s going over all of the key points in the War on Terror - the battles so far won in the war, and he’s getting the right amount of applause in all the right spots - it’s playing out much like a State of the Union speech.

He just poked fun at Kerry’s idea of “more sensitive” war on terror.

He’s talking about Kerry’s flip-flops and the crowd has gone into a “flip-flop” chant. Ok, that’s neither a smirk nor a smile, it’s a look of bemusement.

On Kerry’s commitment to asking the UN for permission to defend: “George W. Bush will never seek a permission slip to defend the American people.”

Perhaps Cheney should have gone on before Zell Miller… would have made a better crescendo to the end of the evening.
