New York | In Case You're Wondering ...

… why I’m not in NYC: as with the DNC, my real (and paying) job requires that I be in Minneapolis today and tomorrow. Think of it as an “undisclosed location,” except that it’s just been disclosed. But Michele’s on the scene, as are many other CP contributors, and I’ll be in the hall bright and early Wednesday morning.

Until then, keep reading.

If you want to keep tabs of the demonstrations, visit the PW forum. there have been a few interesting confrontations.

So far, over 400 arrests. It seems these “protesters” are there to “protest” just about every issue you can possibly dream up. Many of their issues have nothing to do with election issues.

I guess protesting is becoming something that these nut cases do just for the “fun and excitement”.

Alan,

I’m in Minneapolis. Send me an email with info about how to contact you and I’ll buy you a beverage of your choice. No worries if you choose not to.

item of intrest:

Sticks and stones: Morton Blackwell says he was just trying to patch up a cut, but the message he’s sending was unmistakable. Blackwell, 64, of Arlington, Va., made up 300 bandages with Purple Hearts on them to mock what he claims is Democrat John Kerry’s inflated Vietnam War record. He gave the bandages to other Republican National Convention delegates, and he says he’ll have to make up some more to meet the demand from convention-goers. “Vets have a legitimate complaint with Kerry,” said Blackwell, who is not a veteran.

As you post your comment, please mind our simple comment policy: we welcome all perspectives, but require that comments be both civil and respectful. We also ask that you avoid the extensive use of profanity, racist terms (neither of which we consider civil or respectful), and other boorish language.

We also will frown upon those who suggest that we ban other individuals for voicing unpopular opinions, should those opinions be voiced in a civil and respectful manner. The point of our comment threads is to provide a forum for spirited though civil and respectful discourse … it is not to provide a forum in which everyone will agree with your point of view.
