Kerry | Kerry: "I Have Been Consistent All Along"

Bloomberg reports that Kerry, responding to criticism from President Bush that Kerry has changed position on Iraq, told supporters he’s been “consistent:”

“The Bush folks are trying to say that we’ve changed positions, this and that,” Kerry told a rally at the University of Nevada in Las Vegas yesterday. “I have been consistent all along, ladies and gentlemen.”

Kerry went on,

“I have been twice as consistent as Bush. I have been consistently for the war, and consistently against it, consistently for the military and consistently against it, consistently for my band of brothers and consistently against baby killers, consistently for gun control and consistently against it, consistently for life and consistently for abortion on demand right through Kindergarten.”

and so on.

Consistently Confirmed Media Bias about Scary Kerry

I agree with Senator Windsock. He’s been consistently opportunistic and FOS.

Alan and Michele unfairly banned nikita demosthenes from contributing to the Command Post because - Alan and Michele said - there was inappropriate slang in this innocuous post.

The URL is:

Alan and Michele did not respond to nikita’s e-mail arguing his case about the innocuousness of this post. nikita argued that: (1) the slang in this post is very innocuous, (2) that harsher slang is frequently used by other contributors to the Command Post, (3) that there’s nothing wrong with “slang” or “colloquialisms” so long as they are not crude or profane - indeed, such usage is seen throughout the blogosphere and is one of the reasons the blogosphere is so fun and readable, and (4) that the post communicates very well the widely-felt frustration with Kerry’s constant harping on his 4 months in Vietnam.

The post got the Command Post a good mention in the Cincinnati Enquirer newspaper during the Democratic Convention. But Alan and Michele banned nikita anyway.

Go read the post. See if a ban based on the “slang” in this post makes sense to you. It doesn’t to me.

Alan and Michele are sticklers for rules with others. But I humbly submit that Alan and Michele aren’t following their own rules in this instance.

Respectfully-
-nikita demosthenes

I can’t find anything in the post that anyone would object to, except, perhaps, the actual message of the content.

Slang I found:

“Ahem”
“OK”
“lame” (in context)
“Whoops”
“poster boy”
“duh”
“Sheez”
“cheers”
“riffs” (in context)
“Nitpick”

A. Neither the time nor the place
B. I can’t either, but I’d defer to Michele and Alan on this. If they felt like dropping you, well, it is their right.
C. You’re still listed as a contributor on the bottom right side of the page, so I’d check that out.

Here’s the short article from the Cincinnati Enquirer.

I saw the article as a positive, not a negative (as, apparently, Alan did).

Oh.
“In blogging, slang such as “sheez” and “lame” really helps get the point across.”

I think that was more sarcasm…the newspapers are really hitting the content of the blogs hard lately, trying to make them look juvenile.

..whats this bs got to do with the topic at hand??Are we trying to deflect that this man is “NOT FIT TO COMMAND”

Posted by: Rob_NC [TypeKey Profile Page] at August 12, 2004 08:39 AM

Here’s plenty on the fact that Kerry is “Unfit to Command.”

John Kerry Lied About Spending Christmas 1968 In Cambodia. Most Mainstream Media Are Ignoring The Story.

I would’ve probably have posted the above post on the Command Post editorial page if I hadn’t been banned.

The post should be here.

Nikita, are you SURE you are banned? Not just a glitch? Oh well, in the mean time, we’ve had some fun at http://rednecktexan.blogspot.com/ . I guarantee you, you won’t get banned. :)
