| Illinois Senate Race Gets Even More Interesting

[So far this page has not been covering Senate Races and if Alan and Michele wish, I’ll gladly remove this post]

Today is the day the local GOP is supposed to decide on someone to run against Democratic All-Star Barack Obama. Rumors are floating this morning that former Presidential wanna-be Alan Keyes might be under consideration.

Meanwhile a group [lead by myself] has developed a site dedicated to questioning Obama’s record.

Oh, I hope so! That would be the most interesting, far-reaching, telegenic and impassioned Senate race this country has seen in a long time. I hope they do it, and do it soon!

Good by me, Mike.

“Interesting”? Sure, in a circus side-show kind of way.

Let’s run down the Republican list of candidates shall we?
1. Pushy sex fiend forced to drop out
2. Ex-foot-baller/erectile-dysfunction salesman
3. Professional speaker, former presidential hopeful—Who tackily drew a salary from his campaign donations, and whose campaign wrote bad checks.

Um, who’s next? Sonny Bono’s corpse?

ok, ep

elvis,

No way the Rs can get Sonny Bono’s corpse for the Illinois Senate election.

The Dems have already hired it for the Presidential race.

I’m kind of split between Keyes and Obama.

Obama is a socialis drug war supporter.

Keyes is an American Taliban against prohibition.

The R’s are now clearly desperate to field Some/Any candidate in a clearly losing cause.

Which explains why there are so few of them.

Being from another country I don’t know who Tom Daschel is or what party he’s from, so when I see an ad with him beside John K. I figure he must be a Liberal.

OK. He might be an independent who is teaming up with John K. I don’t know, so I go to his web page (found in the Command Post’s right column) and low and behold no where is it plainly pointed out that he is a Democrat, one must read the fine print to find out what party this guy is from!

My BULLSHIT DETECTOR starts flashing, Senator are we embarrassed to be a Democrat or what?

-PS if you type Daschel into your spell checker it suggests “Diastole” m. to expand…more at stall.

“Obama is a socialis drug war supporter.”

This is the second time I’ve seen this guy called a Socialist. I’m not going to make any judgements based on what I read here w/o a little more factual evidence to back it up. Could you possibly point me to something that confirms your perspective? I’m curious, because I cannot imagine that the Democratic Party would embrace such a system. :o)

“Keyes is an American Taliban against prohibition.”

That’s a rather odd juxtaposition of Belief systems as well. Same goes for this one. I’m just curious, cuz I don’t know a whole lot about either of these people.
