Boston | Boots On The Ground

IMG_4484.JPG

I have finally arrived in Boston, a few hours early thanks to scheduling and luck. The most striking thing so far: the complete absence of visible security at Logan Airport (at least, the part I transited). But the haughty air of self-important people penetrates the sea air … all you need to do is watch the out-of-towners push around the hotel desk clerks to appreciate the hubris about … and I’ll leave shortly to test my wares among the convention crowd.

It seems I’ve arrived too late to secure my credentials for today, so I’ll likely be on the outside looking in … that said, there should still be plenty to blog, and I hope do so shortly from downtown.

Greetings.

I have e-mailed Alan about two - three weeks ago concerning command post’s IP Ban list. Alan has been back from vacation for 4-5 days now and I have received no reply from him as of yet.

What at first seemed like a computer glitch now seems like I was indeed IP Banned and I need to see if I was indeed. I have received NO notification what so ever that I’ve been IP banned and I’ve posted my hotmail account numerous times. (macmillan_jeff@hotmail.com)

I have been a poster for about 1 year and a contributor to the Anniversary section of the Op-Ed. I’ve only received positive comments from people such as Gabriel Hanna… I don’t remember ever receiving negative comments from anyone other than the usual, friendly, political debating.

If indeed I was banned would it be possible for Command Post to dig up the comment they banned me for? Or if my ‘IP’ was banned on accident then could they unban me?

I’ve been a poster just a day or two prior to Typekey. Only after typekey registeration and attempting to post something after logging in did I find out that I may or may not have been IP banned. I am confused and baffled about who to talk to if ‘ALAN’ is too busy to respond.

Please help….Thanks.

Jeff MacMillan, try:

for some fresh air.

Alan sez, “The most striking thing so far: the complete absence of visible security at Logan Airport (at least, the part I transited).”

Why should there be? Why in the hell would terrorists want to disrupt their appeasers?

Alan sez, “But the haughty air of self-important people penetrates the sea air … all you need to do is watch the out-of-towners push around the hotel desk clerks to appreciate the hubris about “

No doubt you’re at the liberal’s convention. I think you’ll see the opposite at the Republican convention.

Jeff, I’ll try to get it figured out. With 10,000 to 100,000 visitors a day, you can imagine that you’re not the only person sending emails that I need to repsond to in my free time (I do, after all, have a 60- to 70-hour a week job). I’ll check it out.

No Party: I’m curious to see that myself …

We also will frown upon those who suggest that we ban other individuals for voicing unpopular opinions, should those opinions be voiced in a civil and respectful manner.
