Kerry | Kerry-Bin Laden Bumper Stickers

In Kentucky, a bumper sticker reading: “Kerry is bin Laden’s Man. Bush is Mine” is creating a ruckus. The Associated Press reports:

Jefferson County GOP chairman Jack Richardson IV said the stickers were so popular that GOP headquarters ran out Friday. He won’t distribute more, but is trying to locate their source for those who want them. “I believe in the question this bumper sticker raises,” Richardson said.

Bill Garmer, chairman of the Kentucky Democratic Party, said the sticker equates a decorated Vietnam veteran with Osama bin Laden - “one of the greatest enemies of the United States.”

“It goes way over the line,” he said.

Truth hurts.

People are smarter than that. By all means, pass these around, Kerry will win by a landslide.

The Berger S_ _ t is hitting the fan. Joe Wilson has already splattered and stinks bad! Kerry appears to be sinking in New Jersey (of all places) going into the convention. (Actually, I doubt that N.J. story)!

However, Dream On, rd, Dream On!

What NJ polls have you seen that we haven’t?

Posted by: Lakhim [TypeKey Profile Page] at July 20, 2004 06:58 PM

I think the Bin Laden-Kerry bumper sticker is excessive, and in bad taste.

However my “Ba’athists for Kerry” bumper stickers are selling briskly. Kidding . . .

And unless you have an armed guard watching your car 24/7, some nut from MoveOn.org will just deface the bumper sticker, or your car, anyway. My poor 1994 Saturn had three different Dole-Kemp bumper stickers defaced (I kept replacing them). Granted, when I looked at that Saturn I though to myself “oh, well, if they key it, it’s just a Saturn.” My new car I value too much.

It will wear a Bush/Cheney ‘04 sticker proudly, though.

Bumper sticker - ‘Somewhere in Mass. there’s a village without an idiot’

How do you tell when Kerry is lying? His lips are moving.

Veterans have my utmost respect. They can do or say just about anything. I know a phony when I see one. Kerry is a phony. I know people. I’ll stand to say he’s no f**kin’ war hero. I don’t care how many medals he conned his way into or if he has 1 or 2 guys that say everyone else is wrong about him. He’s a friggin snake of the worst kind.
It just takes a snake like him, Edwards, Gore, or Bill to represent the f*****g weirdos they represent and to undermine our country like they do.

I have one question, If Bin Laden was communicating with extremist Muslims, in the US, that are citizens, who would he recommend?

In some sense militant Islamic extremism is a political and religious movement. There are certain conditions which could directly affect the cause, so I would argue that the sticker is likely to be accurate.

I can guarantee that there will be no appeasement of terrorism while on Bush’s watch, I cannot say the same if on Kerry’s. Kerry is much more likely to attempt negotiations or deals, rather than eliminate threats. Kerry is a puppet to popular opinion and to UN incompetence.

I think Bin Laden is perfectly happy to have George Bush in the White House. Iraq is bin Laden’s wet dream.

Posted by: rdelephant [TypeKey Profile Page] at July 20, 2004 07:48 PM

rdelephant - I had assumed you were just a leftist lawyer, but now I know you are a keyboard comedian!

Yet another seed of representative democratic government in the ME and you call it a Bin Laden wet dream. I sometimes can’t understand what the hell kind of glasses you must look through to see the distorted view of reality that you do.

Posted by: I collect political items [TypeKey Profile Page] at July 20, 2004 07:59 PM

That’s not just my view, thats the view of George W. Bush’s former terrorism czar, Richard Clarke. Maybe you should read his book, you would sound less ignorant.

Posted by: rdelephant [TypeKey Profile Page] at July 20, 2004 08:10 PM

I already have, a borrowed copy I assure you as I certainly did not want him or the publisher to benefit from my curiousity.

Now I would have to say that if you want to believe a very bitter fired employee who had much higher hopes for his own career, feel free. I know how to comprehend the big picture and I can put this in perspective. The book was informative, with proper perspective, it is highly mis-informative to those with less ability/background to separate the truths from the lies - but don’t feel too bad, there apparently are many misguided rdelephants out there!

Also, maybe Clarke’s perspective will change a bit to knowing that his classified writings were going into Sandy Berger’s shorts and socks. National Security advisor under Clinton, quite openly betraying the American people/government! Behavior this egregious can only be the tip of the iceburg on this story.

Posted by: I collect political items [TypeKey Profile Page] at July 20, 2004 09:01 PM

I don’t think Garmer is paying too much attention. The bumper sticker does not equate Kerry with bin Laden, which would be over the top. It says that bin Laden would prefer Kerry, which is a defensible point of view.

Rdelephant, if you think the war in Iraq is going the way Al-Qaeda wants it to, have you read any part of the letter from Zarqawi to his Al Qaeda associates? I quote (from memory): “The enemy is everywhere. We are being suffocated. It is intolerable.” The letter can easily be found; use Google.

Clarke was right if he said that AQ was spoiling for a fight. But then bin Laden also thought that AQ would easily defeat the US forces.

Posted by: Bostonian [TypeKey Profile Page] at July 20, 2004 09:06 PM

You mean the we-should-try-to-understand-why-they-hate-us-Richard-Clarke?

When I heard that comment out of Clarke, it didn’t really matter to me how long he had been in the intel biz.. that’s an appeasment POV if I’ve ever heard one.

Clarke’s priority was his own job security not the security of our country.

Posted by: TexasGal [TypeKey Profile Page] at July 20, 2004 09:10 PM

Clarke falls into the category of John Kerry, John Edwards, Sandy Berger, Bill and Hillary Clinton, and all of the other lying, propagandizing, socialist practicing pigs.

Politics is sure fun…who could make this stuff up!!?
And it is quite fun to watch the liberals try to spin their way out of anything. Even the most outrageous scenario is on their list of squirming out of a corner. Libs are getting a bad name, but I think most of them are gay, and want Sandy Berger to send his briefs and socks to them…alas, Sandy will soon be washing them in the pen.

Oh yes, Richard “I always land on my feet”, Clark.
There’s a real piece of work. The reason he has a ball bearing belly button is that he rents himself out as a weather vane. I am biting my tongue so very hard right now. My fingers just ache to do a Berger and pour out information that would get me in trouble

Read_Ghost Wars_ by Steve Coll and look in the index under Clark and you’ll get a taste of just a tiny tip of the Clark ‘berg. It’s a giant book but it is as accurate a story as you are going to find.

These bumper stickers are a fantastic idea.

They are the equivalent of the Bush=Hitler meme.

They will turn some Bush supporters into non-Bush supporters.

Since Bush is slipping, and he’s the boy to beat, losing these votes is a Very Bad Thing (or Very Good Thing, depending on your perspective).

Keep up the good work Republicans. :D

“They are the equivalent of the Bush=Hitler meme.”

They are? Can you demonstrate that, or are you just playin’ with us?

Personally, I think I will have to get one…it will go GREAT next to the one that says:

Kerry/Edwards
When you are full of sh*t as these two guys, YOU NEED TWO JOHNS!

Posted by: DevilDoc [TypeKey Profile Page] at July 21, 2004 10:31 AM

Bush=Hitler is as outrageous as Kerry=Bin laden.

Or is it fairer to say ” “Bush is Hitler’s Man. Kerry is Mine” as “Kerry is bin Laden’s Man. Bush is Mine” is pretty stupid.

This is a litmus test for yahoos.

They are the equivalent of the Bush=Hitler meme.

Only to a completely illogical mind and/or the laughable left (which is proving to be almost completely, mutually inclusive!).

PLEASE, for the sake of us all…AND a good laugh… provide your “proof” of the equivalency in the form of:

Premise
Premise (as many as you’d like, but at least two please)
Inference
Conclusion: ” They are the equivalent of the Bush=Hitler meme”

This should be enlightening.

It may be harder now for the Dems and the left to enjoy the run up to the convention.

First Linda Rondstat gets the boot for encourging Moore’s propaganda masterpiece, then Sandy Berger is caught with his pants full, the 9-11 Commission does not trash the administration, a new report from the Iraq Survey group lends support to the WMD premise, the wild woman, former Rep Cindy McKinney (D-GA) looks like she is coming back to haunt the Dems with her pro-Arab and anti-Israel rantings and according to USA Today, the upcoming June jobs report is showing good news for the President:

“Overall, preliminary job figures for June were mostly good news for Bush. They showed continuing growth in most states. Employment was up from May in all but 10 states and above year-ago levels in all but four. Unemployment, which is at 5.6% nationally, was below year-ago levels in all but three.
Most of the 17 states in the presidential election that could tip either way and decide the race gained jobs. Swing states Missouri, Wisconsin, West Virginia, Oregon and Pennsylvania were among the 11 fastest-growing job markets.”

While Ohio and Michigan continued to struggle to replace manufacturing jobs, the most of the battleground states may not be as receptive to the economic woes expected to be touted at the Democratic Convention as Kerry/Edwards would like. The terrorists are now reduced to car bombs and mafia-like extortion against our allies. Could be a trying August for the liberal left.

I was laying there last night and I thought of a great bumper sticker. It could make millions! I don’t know why someone else hasn’t thought of this ingenious phrase:

Kerry Sucks

:)

Posted by: No Party [TypeKey Profile Page] at July 21, 2004 12:36 PM

The typical response from the left to a criticism of Kerry seems to always be in the “That’s over the Top” vein. I hope everyone who thinks that also thinks all the “Bush = Hitler” comments are a bit much as well.

But for the “You can’t say that, he’s a Vietnam Vet” crowd, being a veteran of war does nothing to vouchsafe credibility, honesty, or intellect. Veterans good and bad fought. We appreciate and honor their sacrifices, but that doesn’t give them a pass in life.

Finally, to those who use “He was a Vietnam veteran” to deflect from current criticism I could also say “Lt. Calley was a Vietnam Veteran Too” and I know you don’t want to see that on a bumper sticker.

By the way…. the Dems hate the Truth, but Kerry IS IN FACT bin Laden’s hope.

Posted by: leaddog2 [TypeKey Profile Page] at July 21, 2004 04:59 PM

Richard Clarke was not crazy when Bush kept him as his terrorism czar, he is not crazy today (nor is Bob Graham, who has expressed a similar view). You may not agree with them, but especially if you have read Clarke’s book, there is no excuse for pretending that this point of view is crazy.

As for Zarqawi’s purported letter, it sounds like propaganda to me. Even if its authentic, they have killed a goodly number of our soldiers and the war is not over yet. Besides, Clarke point was never that they would do serious damage to us on the battlefield, it was that 1) the Iraq war is a distraction and drain of resources from the REAL GWOT, 2) it is likely to inflame moderate Islamic opinion, aiding OBL’s recruiting and 3) it may destablize the Saudi’s and/or Pakistanis, creating even worse problems.
