Edwards | What Edwards Brings To The Ticket
The print media … which was largely left holding the bag when the Edwards announcement didn’t coordinate well with their publication schedule … took their crack at the story yesterday with a number of “what does Edwards bring to the ticket” stories. The Christian Science Monitor made the case in two ways: here that Edwards will help the Democrats frame the debate on the economy, rather than national security, and here that it will help Kerry’s appeal in the Midwest. This is all part of the “bounce” Kerry gets. a “bounce” for this and “bounce” for that and “bounce” for the next GD thing. Talking heads talk, media popes pontificate, analysts analyze and on and on. Posted by: skip They can try to frame the debate about domestic issues all they want, but I’d like the VP in 2005 to have some grey at the temples and to understand national security. The economy, health care, and education be damned. Let’s win the war. Posted by: DWC Cheney’s major contribution to Not winning the war was that interview on MtP about how there’d be no problem after the attack, that we would be greeted as Liberators across Iraq, and everything would be fine thereafter. I suspect our next VP won’t be quite so vehenmently sanguine about so important a matter. Posted by: Don ahhh. Such nice heads of hair those Democrat boys have. Perhaps Edwards’ strategy for fighting the war on terror revolves around filing a class action lawsuit against al-Qaeda? Maybe Edwards can sue the Saudi Oil Barrons on America’s behalf, and we can split the settlement 250 million ways! That’s after he takes his 30% cut, of course. Posted by: jackhammer JH: Would hair be the reason why so many of the Cheney-droids seem so wrothful and jealous? Mebbe so at that. But ya gotta give Edwards this: He’s unlikely to funnel a lot of unbid cost-plus construction contracts to a trial lawyer with which he’d done business in the past. That would be refreshing!
