Posted by: Lakhim at July 5, 2004 10:51 PM leaddog2….it is true that 70% of high schoolers cannot reason, but it is my understanding that the other 40% can reason pretty well. Posted by: dickD at July 5, 2004 10:56 PM 40% are above average? seems high to me. Posted by: wafflestomper at July 6, 2004 12:39 AM dick- My well placed sources tell me that 5 out of every 4 people have problem with fractions. I assume you are one of those? Posted by: Lakhim at July 6, 2004 12:49 AM I’m vaguely disturbed that the NEA is allowed to endorse a candidate at all. Posted by: TBox at July 6, 2004 02:28 AM Why not? The NEA’s nose is in all sorts of places it doesn’t belong, like support for abortion rights. I don’t see that this endorsement will matter much one way or another. Most educators, like myself, have already made up their minds. I for one will most definitely NOT be voting for Senator Kerry. He, much like the NEA, does not represent anything I stand for. Posted by: roosterchick at July 6, 2004 03:13 AM P.S. - The NEA is using its national convention not only to endorse Kerry but to generously screen Moore’s pseudo-documentary for its delegates as well.
