Kerry | Official: Kerry has chosen VP
CNN: Official: Kerry has chosen VP Sen. John Kerry is spending the day Monday on his wife’s 90-acre farm in Pennsylvania, but he has filled the vice-presidential slot on the Democratic national ticket, a party official told CNN. Posted by Laurence Simon at July 5, 2004 11:18 AM | TrackBack Comments
Sorry friend! Who really cares about losers? Posted by: leaddog2 at July 5, 2004 01:48 PM Your right! Who cares who Bush is going to choose for a running mate, more attention to Kerry! Posted by: Lakhim at July 5, 2004 02:07 PM He hasn’t lost yet. I really hope he picks Edwards. Gephardt makes me ill. Posted by: rdelephant at July 5, 2004 02:09 PM Sorry, I’ve read that anonymous Party official quote three times and all I get is that we are desperate, precious, desperate to drum up some exitement and attention about this. Seriously, apart from sounding pompous as ever, what is “on his own terms” supposed to mean? Is he besieged or something? And I’m not sure what to make of the expected “rapid turn-around”, much less the enthusiastic anticipation of our source. Turn-around from what? I thought the Kerry camp thinks they’ve got it in the bag already. That’s what they keep saying around here. Is there trouble in paradise? Who knew…… Posted by: marymcl at July 5, 2004 02:18 PM When the 47/48% American public who still support WB realize that this artificial handover doesn’t change the insecurity in Iraq and that American soldiers are still losing their lives despite the Republican propaganda about the so-called handover, they will come to see that once more this administration has lied to them (remember the WMDs and a year ago and a few hundreds casualties ago when they announced that the war in Iraq had ended) and they will vote for the alternative represented by Senator Kerry and whoever is his VP. Posted by: Get Real at July 5, 2004 02:52 PM Wonder how long it will take him to realize that no one really cares…? Posted by: Mona B. at July 5, 2004 02:53 PM Why Mona, you are right! The 48+% of the population that will vote for Kerry doesn’t care what his VP choice is. Posted by: Lakhim at July 5, 2004 03:04 PM GR, WMD HAS been found, and soon our troops will be either in Iran or the Sudan. Both options are better then fighting here in the USA. I think Fly-over America understands what is at stake, even if the Bi-costals don’t. I think that the Demonrats will end up like the Federalists. Read up on the election of 1812 and what happened to the party that opposed a just war. BTW, the War was over. You are just so ignorant that you don’t know the difference between war and occupation. Most liberals have that problem. Bush wins by 30+ Electorial votes. And my bonus prediction; Arnuuld brings california to the Rupblican side of the Ledger. Posted by: ableiter at July 5, 2004 03:06 PM You are aware that the war of 1812 ended in 1815, right? Besides, the federalists were a minority party for a long time before 1812, and the election of 1812 was their best showing in a few presidential cycles. Go ahead and continue thinking that Bush will win by over 30 votes, and that California will go Republican. It won’t happen. Posted by: Lakhim at July 5, 2004 03:18 PM The people with the cajones to put their money where their mouth is have Bush winning by 5%. Check out the Iowa Electronic Market. Posted by: Jet at July 5, 2004 04:06 PM Lakhim, I salute your tenacity in a losing cause. However- While it’s likely those on either side who’ve already made up their minds don’t care who the VP candidates are, it could be the very thing that tips the scales for those crucial undecided votes. So I wouldn’t be too dismissive. For instance, it’s occurred to me that from a purely political standpoint, Cheney is a divisive figure, much like Hillary - for some reason they’ve become ciphers for everything the opposition despises about their parties. We speak of anti-Bush this and that all the time, but the guy that’s really hated is Cheney, the Evil Puppetmaster. So it seems to me if Bush were to have Cheney step down for health or more time with the family or whatever and bring in someone like Giuliani, who has broad appeal and could easily rally people in a kind of “let’s lick our political wounds and move on” effort, not to mention the executive skill and experience in crisis that he would bring to the ticket - well, that could make a big difference to a lot of undecided voters. Especially if your man doesn’t come up with something other than “I’m not him” and soon. A side benefit for those of us with snarky senses of humor would be that Cheney could then spend all his time truly behind the scenes in undisclosed, secure locations and moonbat conspiracy theorists of all stripes could go to town like never before. Posted by: marymcl at July 5, 2004 04:11 PM Here’s the links Posted by: jet at July 5, 2004 04:12 PM Jet- I don’t think all those people in the stock market wanted to lose all that money back in the 2000’s, but they put their money in it anyway. Posted by: Lakhim at July 5, 2004 05:04 PM Lakhim, At least you can conduct a civil conversation. That is a rarity from the left. I still think you are wrong based on what I see, but November 2nd will tell the tale. What bothers decent Americans is things like the recent Gore and Moore statements accusing Bush of knowing about 9-11 in advance and the claims that Saudis were let go without interviews after 9-11. That is NOT ONLY a KNOWN and BLATANT lie that Moore used anyway, but Richard Clarke said he made the decision on letting the Saudi’s fly out months ago and he DID NOT clear it with superiors. That type of stuff is coming out. So is the incredibly good news from Iraq’s bloggers and other news items that will bypass the anti-war Washington Post this week. Americans are NOT STUPID. The Demons have cooked themselves. Posted by: leaddog2 at July 5, 2004 05:42 PM And Get Real- Sorry to point out the obvious, but the simple truth is those who support Bush are well aware of the fact this handover does not magically change the security situation, so your hopes in that quarter are false. Posted by: marymcl at July 5, 2004 06:40 PM Get Real - You sound like someone who asked for a bicycle for Christmas but got a Harley instead then claimed he was lied to. No one EVER said any of this was going to be easy, and it is far from over. We are still at war, and our President and the Coalition are doing a great job. That said, my money for the losing ticket is on - Lurch and Howdy Doody (or for those of you not old enough to remember - Gephart). Posted by: Jim at July 5, 2004 07:40 PM NEWS FLASH: KERRY PICKS WOMAN FOR VP In a surprise announcement Democratic Presidential candidate John Kerry picked Jane Fonda for his running mate. Mr. Kerry said “the choice was easy. We have so much in common; low body fat, the same defense policy, and the same solution for the economy (marry a billionaire).” Posted by: funhawg at July 6, 2004 02:52 AM I dunno, I still hold fantasies of Rice taking the VP spot. Posted by: TBox at July 6, 2004 03:32 AM For GW, that is. Realized the ambiguity after posting. Posted by: TBox at July 6, 2004 03:33 AM Post a comment
