The title to this article should be “Kerry Bombs in Speech Before Rainbow Coalition - Goes Back into Hiding.” Posted by: Jim at June 30, 2004 11:09 AM Which of Terri’s palatial estates will Mr Kerry hide in this time? Which secret service agent will he curse out? Which macho sport will he be attempting when he falls this time? How many Senate sessions will he miss this time? How will he blame Bush for all of the above? Posted by: skip at June 30, 2004 11:56 AM He’s been campaigning? I hadn’t noticed. Posted by: Nathan Hamm at June 30, 2004 12:02 PM According to libs, Presidents don’t get vacation. Shouldn’t kerry be at this job? What is his job anyway? Posted by: jones at June 30, 2004 12:04 PM His main job is to lounge at Teresa’s estate waiting for her to beckon him from her bedroom. I seriously think she likes men who look like Lerch, but I’ll bet there is only one THING that keeps the rich bitch happy….Kerry must be hung like Frankensteins monster! Sorry for all these bad visuals, I gotta get some coffee! Posted by: dickD at June 30, 2004 12:24 PM Dick, my considered response to the visuals you provide: ewwwwwwwwww Posted by: skip at June 30, 2004 12:32 PM “Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry is taking a two-day break from campaigning “ Woaw! John Kerry has been campaigning? Since when? Where? What? Maybe I just fell asleep since the first time he spoke up as a Senator. :-) Only supporters for Kerry currently are the ‘Not Bush’ Maniacs. Posted by: Jeff MacMillan at June 30, 2004 02:10 PM Glad to know you are telling me why I am supporting Kerry Jeff! Have any more suggestions about what I am doing? Posted by: Lakhim at June 30, 2004 03:34 PM Lakhim, Jeff is assuming intelligence there….. somewhere. Get Real disproves that though, so Jeff will have to answer you. Posted by: leaddog2 at June 30, 2004 03:53 PM Can’t a guy crack a joke at a Kerry Supporter’s expense? In seriousness Lakhim supports Kerry because he loves the idea of spending $643 billion on Heatlh Care Costs that in which half of the costs get dumped on the State Governments to pay for and the rest is funded through Tax Hikes. Posted by: Jeff MacMillan at June 30, 2004 06:30 PM Jeff- I am even more glad that you are now deciding how Kerry will pay for his proposals, do continue and tell me how to think, and send a letter to Kerry telling him how to pay for everything. Posted by: Lakhim at June 30, 2004 06:37 PM Lakhim Jeff expresses his opinion, as do you. But please tell us how Kerry intends to pay for these programs. Or how YOU think he’s going to do it, since I don’t see anywhere else that the question has been addressed, including your snarky last comment. Posted by: Cap'n DOC at June 30, 2004 08:56 PM Lakhim seems to be yet another liberal who offers no real information, but just loves to pick fights and criticize. (He has done so twice with me in the last couple weeks and I do not often post.) When Jeff expressed an opinion which is essentially backed by information and polls which have had links on this site and many others, Lakhim turned it into a personal disagreement when the general statement is true. That famous LA Times biased sampling poll even showed that among democrats only 85% were firm in their support of Kerry while over 95% of republicans were firm in their support of Bush and Independents in that poll also favored Bush. When asked the single most important reason for support, the resounding winner among Kerry supporters was “He is not Bush” ie. the regular ABB crowd that is so virulent and angry. This result is common in every poll I have seen that asked the question. Bush supporters primarily cite specific issues of interest and Bush’s position, Kerry “supporters” cite Bush (or more specifically ABB). I dare you Lakhim, to show different. With respect to paying for any programs, Kerry’s proposed tax hikes (discontinuance of tax cuts), range of programs proposes and general economic and defense plans are ludicrous. He would put the brakes on an improving economy, which is in incredibly good shape considering the Clinton inherited recession, the 9-11 attack which according to estimates, cost the US economy 2.4 trillion dollars and the rebuilding of our military and intelligence communities after the Clinton cuts. Anyone who would think the government would not operate in a deficit considering those factors is irrational. The recovering economy will catch up and steamroll those deficits if well-guided and directed. Emergencies require emergency actions and funds. We have been though a recession, largest attack in history on our shores and 2 wars - a wise financial plan will pay off these “emergencies” over a 10 year period, so I can’t understand these ridiculously short-sighted views. When will todays left ever study enough economics over relevant periods to see what John Kennedy, Ronald Reagan and George Bush can see so clearly - well directed tax cuts do indeed GENERATE GREATER REVENUE (over time) and if the top 50% of wage earners pay over 90% of all taxes, tax breaks will naturally favor those who pay them!!!!!!!!!!! You can’t refund what people don’t pay - that is called a grant! Posted by: politicals at June 30, 2004 10:00 PM Unfortunately Kerry just doesn’t have anything, anything at all to make him interesting. Which bums me out, because I supported him as the only serious Dem before the primaries based on some of his statements he made while in the Senate, statements that backed trade and economic deregulation, or in other words statements that indicated he had a clue when it came to economics. Then he ran for President. And then Dean took an early lead, so Kerry began aping him over Iraq. And then Edwards started pulling a lot of votes with his anti-capitist populism, so Kerry started aping him. And now Kerry appears to have lost himself. Like Clinton before him, Kerry doesn’t seem to want the Presidency to do anything, he just wants to BE President. Bush brought a pretty lightweight agenda to Washington too, but even if he never really found a strong purpose before he was elected, but at least on 11 Sept. 2001 his purpose found him. It’s a shame that Lieberman didn’t wind up on top. This race would be a lot more interesting and a lot more meaningful if Iraq wasn’t the political football it has become. :jackson Posted by: jackson zed at June 30, 2004 10:44 PM Sorry Politicals, Lakhim will not be able to answer you this evening. He is sitting thru his 8th screening of that mythical blockbuster ‘Fahrenheit 911’….. he leads the liberals in cheers at the finish and they all hyperventilate and chant anti-American slogans! What do lliberals celebrate on the Fourth of July since they are so against our country? Think about it…..I have the answer and Lakhim is the ‘poster’ child for it. Posted by: dickD at June 30, 2004 11:40 PM Lakhim wrote, “Jeff- I am even more glad that you are now deciding how Kerry will pay for his proposals,” Hmm!? You don’t recognize as true what I wrote? It says so in the Detroit News so it’s gotta be correct:-) It’s in June 30th edition, Detroit News is the website. Posted by: Jeff MacMillan at July 1, 2004 12:02 AM You mention that wonderful movie which they continue to classify as a documentary. I would have a bit more respect for Kerry if he would denouce this movie as inaccurate and devisive in a time of war. Silence, on the other hand is tacit approval. How in the hell can they call that POS a documentary? They is only very loose basis in reality, much like many of the serial killer movies etc. It may be based upon an actual event, but when there is no effort to document what ACTUALLY happened and when significant portions are fiction HOW is it a documentary?? What a farce - much like Moore himself - he who claims to have been born in Flint, MI, but was basically a rich little brat in a white only town in MI. He who has called Americans the most ignorant people in the world. He who is illegally registered to vote in 2 states. He who was completely against the war in Afghanistan, but now insists Bush has not done enough there to get UBL. Just a fat tub of lies, still a rich little-minded brat that can’t channel efforts in a constructive way, but incites devisive behavior/opinion. My grandma always told me that there is good in all people - I would like to agree, but when it comes to islamofascists and the vile, angry extremist liberals, I sure don’t have the right glasses! Posted by: politicals at July 1, 2004 12:20 AM I notice that as soon as Kerry left the campaign trail, the margin for Bush at Iowa Electronic Markets which had been widening has now leveled off. The “hide Kerry” strategy is working. Now if he can only just manage to stay hidden for the next four months or so he might have a chance. The key is to avoid taking any position on anything and running on a Carteresque motto: “I’m not Bush.” Posted by: Dean Douthat at July 1, 2004 09:01 AM the corner at NRO has pointed out that the number of people who recognize Kerry’s positions is DECLINING. So the stealth candidate approach must be working. As the NRO poster said: at this rate by november, nobody will even know who Kerry is. Posted by: skip at July 1, 2004 12:21 PM Post a comment
