Kerry | Kerry Jokes About VP Choice
The Associated Press reports that Kerry was just joking when he told a Detroit radio station on Friday that he’d name his running mate “in a matter of days:”
Kerry Spokeswoman Stephanie Cutter explained:

Gee I am just salivating over my keyboard in tense anticipation for Senator Kerry to open his trap and announce the Vice President and then say ‘Just Kidding!’ Posted by: Jeff MacMillan at June 4, 2004 08:47 PM Uh, you guys are intriguing. Is this what its come down to? YOure going after Kerry about a lame joke he made on the radio. There isnt even a point here to be made. The articles that are put up should seriously be revisited and be made sure they arent complete garbage. Posted by: Ging at June 4, 2004 08:57 PM Ging, if it’s in the news, we post it … pro-Bush or pro-Kerry, anti-Bush or anti-Kerry. Nobody was going after Kerry … that news item was released by the AP, and we posted it here. If you want to go after the people reporting frivolous news about Kerry, go after the AP, not Dan Spencer. Posted by: Alan at June 4, 2004 09:19 PM No, you dont post everything in the news, nice try. There is no point to this post. I mean, proBUsh or ProKerry, whats the point in this? Uh he made a joke on the radio, he doesent know who hes choosing for VP? What? Im just surprised you spent time putting that up there, cuz theres much more relevant and meaningful news going on. Oh, and there wasnt any humor either. Not exactly a Daily Show-Level observation on the lame joke either. Posted by: Ging at June 4, 2004 09:42 PM I see the point to this post, even if you don’t, Ging. I prefer as much information as I can get on the candidates before the election. It’s another look at Kerry’s personality, such as it is. He’s giving an interview, he’s running for the highest elected office in the country, and he answers the interviewer’s question sarcastically. So far the impression I have of Kerry as an arrogant, narcissistic boob remains unchallenged. Thanks, Alan. Keep the information coming. Posted by: oldcontroller at June 4, 2004 10:34 PM Shouldn’t Kerry wait until he is the official candidate before he selects his running mate? BTW, this delay was predicted. Kerry’s brother says that his decisions are deadline driven. Posted by: joel at June 4, 2004 10:46 PM Cutter explains that Kerry was joking about making an announcement in coming days. However prior to that joke, Kerry made a statement about the decision being made in a couple of days. This was not denied or called a joke. In fact, it took place before the host’s question that sparked the joke. This has relevance given that much has been made of the timing of his announcement, specifically in relation to the release of the Clinton book (June 22). If Kerry waits until after, but has his decision made in a matter of days, that leaves a couple weeks of potential leak time. This could dampen the impact of what normally would be a very positive news time for Kerry. Posted by: chthus at June 4, 2004 10:50 PM Ging is an off the mark liberal. He’s just very worried that John F’n Kerry is gonna pick Al Sharpton! ha ha ha Now there’s a good democrat…black, womanizer, pro abortion, pro gay, and poses as a man of religion. Yeah, Ging, thats your man!! ha ha Posted by: dickD at June 5, 2004 10:09 AM Right…well, Dick, you obviouslly ARE on the mark huh? Keep it up. you seem to have a real politcal knack. Posted by: Ging at June 5, 2004 10:30 AM The only fricken ignorant boob here is you Ging. Hiding behind words and your traitorous actions. Wanna meet me out in public you puke!? Bring some of your guys and I’ll bring some service men, and we’ll kick you ass. When the revolution against you commies starts I want you first!! He’s mine guys! Posted by: dickD at June 5, 2004 12:53 PM Yet another pointless Kerry link. Can we talk about the Enron tapes for a bit? From San Diego Tribune - http://www.signonsandiego.com/news/business/20040603-9999-1b3trading.html —————————————————— The same trader soon talks of the “grandmothers” now demanding refunds from the overcharges. That prompts a second Enron trader to respond: “Yeah, Grandma Millie, man. But she’s the one who couldn’t figure out how to . . . vote on the butterfly ballot.” And he adds, “She’s the one that Al Gore’s fightin’ for.” Another recorded conversation has Enron traders speculating about the advantages of a Bush election, including the elimination of price caps on wholesale electricity and the possibility of naming former Enron Chairman Ken Lay secretary of energy. “That would be awesome,” said one trader. “How great would that be for all the players in the market!” said another. ————————- Posted by: dave at June 5, 2004 01:54 PM Dave suggested, “Can we talk about the Enron…” “Enron did surprisingly well during the Clinton years,” declared NBC News reporter Lisa Myers http://www.mediaresearch.org/cyberalerts/2002/cyb20020226.asp#1 Posted by: Jeff MacMillan at June 5, 2004 08:54 PM ..kudo`s CP,Its fine to bash GW on anything and EVERYTHING but heaven fore bid you ditch jfk, just brings to the point that the lib`s are hypocritical bigots!! Posted by: Rob..NC at June 6, 2004 09:42 AM Interesting lefty troll tactic: Posted by: Jim at June 6, 2004 10:10 AM “Enron did surprisingly well during the Clinton years,” declared NBC News reporter Lisa Myers “ Pres Johnson did well from his associations with Kellogg Brown Root ( Halliburton) during Vietnam. He reportedly was worth $1 Million when entering office and $25 million 4 years later. If Kerry is elected , he will probably give up after suffering through 4 years of his own wishy-washy incompetency, and after exhausting his initial rush of “foreign support” (hehe). just like LBJ did… Posted by: hound at June 6, 2004 12:38 PM So, now that the FEC’s cleared the way for privately funded politically motivated organizations, I’ve finally heard the first ad for the Republican answer to MoveOn.org: TownHall.org. I fully expect them to be evil mirror twins of each other. Posted by: TBox at June 7, 2004 12:14 AM Ging, I admire you. It takes a special kind of person to complain about a free ride and that’s basically what you’re getting here on CP. Your demand that “The articles that are put up should seriously be revisited and be made sure they arent complete garbage.” is arrogance itself. This site is a labor of love for the people who provide it. It’s not here to cater to your arrogant self centered whims boy-o. If you don’t like the selection of thread starters that these fine people select then take your ill informed bodunkas elsewhere, No one here will miss you. Posted by: skip at June 7, 2004 04:23 PM Thats nice Dick. Keep the righteous path. Never resort to violence when your views and ideas fail. If only the world had more of you…Dick. Ive got better things to do than wrastle with rednecks thankyou. Administration, are people like this Dick here the kind of people you want on this board? Posted by: Dick at June 8, 2004 04:02 PM Well, thanks for reminding me about the greatness that is the Internet skip. Nice to think for a while about the wonderful world. But better still, you got me laughing about the general aim of this site, and the its ludicrous pundits that drew me in in the first place. Posted by: Ging at June 8, 2004 05:45 PM dickD that is, not his alter-ego Posted by: Ging at June 8, 2004 05:47 PM Ging: Come on. You ought to know its not possible to reason with these CP folks. They are little more than the internet equivalent of the Dodo-heads of Oxycontin rush Limpblah fame. Logic and reasoning are not their strong suits. Haven’t you noticed that the emperor has no clothes? One of them actually suggested to me that one should give up Christianity rather than try to reason with or show respect for those who might disagree with them. Its like-minded folks who are now busily arguing that torture is perfectly fine policy and behavior for the US government to engage in. May God have mercy on their souls. CPites are mostly Bush sycophants, soap-box journalists, and mindless disciples of Karl Rove, who indirectly funds and directs them. As junior Rovers their purpose has devolved to little more than to whip of the fervor of the mob and whine as loudly as possible when a liberal criticism hits its mark. CP has now shrunk to little more than a means where the true believers can continue to delude one another into believing that they know what is best for everyone else. Typically, however, their rantings usually consist of little more the arrogant sputter of a bunch of overgrown Polyannas with a bad case of hubris, who spew bile at everyone except themselves (of course its all the liberals and Clinton’s fault isn’t it?). Ever notice that Bush removed Truman’s sign from the oval office desktop? Take a closer look at the pictures at the next photo op. CP has now become little more than a pathetic internet ghost of its original ideals and serves only to prompt the true believers toward as much mass hysteria and mindless mob psychology as possible. They think that, like flies, when they swarm they have won an argument. Also like flies, they are careful to only follow the scents that please them. Like an oxycontin rush, their primary purpose now is to keep thinking heads turned, while the real operators steal liberty and from the government treasury. An example, is the recent Pentagon contract for airline tickets. Not one headline about at the CP. The Pentagon in another no bid contract bought more than a million dollars worth of tickets that were never used and allowed to expire. These tickets could have been used by troops coming home for leave or their cost returned to the taxpayer, but instead many of our troops had to pay their own way instead. Don’t hold your breath for inside CP reporting to prompt a rebate. Yesterday, 65,000 elderly and poor have been cut from State Medicare and the Department of Human Services was abolished in order to pay for a new jet and a larger PR staff for the new republican governor. Ever hear a story about it at the CP? CP-ites claim to represent the righteous, the new wave of journalism, and argue as they alone represent a bastion of patriotism and virtue, but in reality they only represent narrow pecuniary interests to those too foolish to recognize it. Karl’s Rovers can’t really engage reasonable people in debate, nor attempt any kind of balanced objective analysis or reporting. Their “analytical” approach seem only to sling epithets or threats, to distort every perspective different from their own, and to whine like hell when they are corrected, “misunderstood”, or ignored. If journalists from your news outlet is using the CP as a source for its stories, you might want to cancel your subscription. Their’s is not to reason why, their’s is but to get others to pay and die. Moveon.org Ging. The reality of the inconsistencies of their own arguments will catch up with these folks sooner or latter anyway. Just position yourself to take advantage of the fallout. The idea that they will perpetually locked in to unwavering misplaced self-righteousness, doomed to uncritically listen to each other is justice enough for me. Posted by: sgposs at June 9, 2004 03:23 PM i know that being the king of non sequiturland entitles you to a crown, but pull it above your eyes and look at what you write. rational debate is a two-way highway and your car is stalled 3 blocks from the on-ramp. Posted by: wafflestomper at June 10, 2004 01:23 PM Hey Wafflestomper. Your post just made my point. Thank you. Posted by: sgposs at June 11, 2004 07:17 AM your remarks are a condemnation of yourself. your ranting caused cp to become that much more of the things which you appear to complain about. my point was that if you want a reasonable discussion, both sides need to be reasonable.
