Edwards | Edwards Looking Out for No. 2?

I’ve been certain Edwards would be the VP candidate since I proclaimed as much in our chat room the night of the New Hampshire primary. Today the LA Times offers more proof for my pudding:

John Edwards’ schedule looks a lot like the travels of a man chasing higher office, with stops in political battlegrounds such as Ohio, Minnesota and, soon, Florida.

Oh, he’s “Number 2” all right.

Since Edwards previously said that he’d never, ever accept the veep nomination, there’s no danger this is going to happen, right? I mean, no politician has ever lied about this sort of thing…

If it helps his career to be the next Geraldine Ferraro, he’ll take it. Kerry’s best chance is for McCain to be the main attraction, not Edwards.

But if Edwards wants to actually BE vice-president, he’ll should wait for Hilary to slither into position.
