2004 US Presidential Election

Kerry | Kerry Picks Up Edwards' Theme
Kerry, speaking at a ceremony clebrating Brown v. Board of Education in Topeka, highlighted the disparity in public education between rich and poor saying “Today, more than ever, we need to renew our commitment to one America.” Do I hear an Edwards Encore coming on? Remember Edwards’ theme was “Two America’s” and it worked quite well in the primaries but it is probably a little too populist to be persuasive to general election voters. So Kerry would be moving on to v.4.0? Posted by: TL at May 17, 2004 04:42 PM Two America’s??? Considering that John Kerry, having been educated in private schools in Switzerland, is not part of either of them, where does that leave him? Posted by: ET at May 17, 2004 05:30 PM Who says that populism is a bad thing? Posted by: Lakhim at May 17, 2004 08:23 PM Since populism in practice is generally subject to the fickle tastes and fads of the populace rather than any steadfast guiding principle, I do. Posted by: TL at May 17, 2004 11:24 PM Whatever do you mean? Bush says the economy is doing great!!! Posted by: x at May 17, 2004 11:44 PM Well, I haven’t visited in a while, so i thought I’s see what’s up, and if the democrats have sponsored a new leader to take them into the white house. I was reading the paper a few days ago, and I saw a poll that was saying 70% of democrats would drop kerry like a used piece of asswipe and vote for Hillary for president. As far as I’m concerned, this election is over. Kerry is so far left, the only cheers he can get is from those on the green party boarder, and half the democrat senate is voting Bush. of course, the anti american “x’ is still here I see, and I bet still slinging his crap around. I’m just too lazy to go look and read comments, but I’m probably not wrong in that assumption. Anyways, take care all old time CP people, and you know who you are. That well wishing doesn’t extend to those lefty freaks who deny the WMD, which incidentally are now in terrorist hands; thankfully they don’t know how to use them yet. lets see now, what was the lefty position? Saddam had no WMD. what else. Oh yea, we should all convert to Islam, the religion of peace. After all, it’s in their books that the world should be islam, and we shouldn’t interfere with their world wide killing sprees. Any other things I missed lefty people? Oh yea, you should all have the right to many your guy friends, except I don’t how you are going to work this out when you all become muslims, it’s against their religion (publicly) Posted by: Fat Guy at May 18, 2004 12:37 AM “Marry you guy friends” Posted by: Fat Guy at May 18, 2004 12:38 AM kerry has nothing in common with the average American. Everyone see’s this but him, which is why he can’t connect, and seems snobbish to everyone. He was raised in privelage, a golden spoon in his mouth. He never worked a day in his life, and his carreer is nothing but a lie. He dishonored the common man who fought for freedom and country, and he lied his way into government. he voted against everything good for the common man. what is the reason democrats are voting for him? I think I forgot Posted by: Fat Guy at May 18, 2004 12:47 AM “Remember Edwards’ theme was “Two America’s” and it worked quite well in the primaries but it is probably a little too populist to be persuasive to general election voters.” Possibly not; it would recall to the Democrats those “Reagan Democrats” who are uncomfortable with corp rats and evangelicals, but are more disdainful of the Petulant Left’s dirigistes and modernists. However, Kerry has shown little evidence that he thinks that there are more votes to be won on his right than are to be lost on his left. Posted by: John "Akatsukami" Braue at May 18, 2004 11:45 AM Today’s reason to dispatch Bush: Jerry Thacker. Posted by: x at May 18, 2004 02:24 PM There seem to be some Bushophiles who seem to forget that George was also born with a silver spoon in his mouth. He even used it to get into the Texas Air National Guard and then leave his post to campaign in Alabama without political fallout (not to mention all those wild parties in Vail, Colorado). The difference between Bush and Kerry on this point is that Kerry took his to VietNam combat and back, where as Bush seems to have swallowed his and it now appears to have resulted in a remarkable pompous and arrogant style. Way to go George! In that proud republican tradition you can fool some of the people all the time. Posted by: sgposs at May 22, 2004 09:00 AM Post a comment
