2004 US Presidential Election
April 20, 2004
| Bush Leads Kerry 50-44 Among LVs
According to the latest CNN/USA Today/Gallup poll, President Bush leads John Kerry 50% to 44% among likely voters. The poll was taken Friday through Sunday. The poll represents a four-point increase in support over a similar poll taken in early April. USA Today reports: Analysts say the lack of movement underscores how polarized the electorate is. About six months before Election Day, they say, most people’s minds are made up. “I don’t think anything barring a major calamity of some sort will have much of an impact between now and November,” says independent pollster John Zogby. “The nation is split down the middle.” Posted by hideandseek at April 20, 2004 08:58 AM | TrackBack Comments
the only ‘calamity’ i can think of that would influence the election is the democratic party developing a platform and set of core values. (i mean besides that little hate thing they got going) Posted by: wafflestomper at April 20, 2004 10:57 AM Thats because the loony left, being like this remind people what kind of government Kerry would have. People aren’t that stupid. They may be against war, but they aren’t against America, and loosing this war would be damaging to America beyond imagination. Posted by: Al-Lat at April 20, 2004 11:01 AM “The nation is split down the middle” says independent pollster John Zogby. Bush leads Kerry 50% to 44%— that doesn’t sound so “split down the middle” to me! But then again, I never thought of Zogby as being particularly “independent” :-) Posted by: Kristina at April 20, 2004 01:01 PM Zogby isn’t. Go to Creators.com and check him out by reading some of the polling questions. It isn’t unusual to see the “Do you want the red car or the blue car” type of question. The polling version of Journalism’s “Have you stopped beating your wife yet?”. Called an alternative advance in the sales world, and, IIRC, a leading question in the legal profession. BTW, the only proper response is, “would you mind rephrasing that”? Hard to do in a poll. Posted by: ableiter at April 20, 2004 06:16 PM Post a comment
