| Election Projection

Election Projection is back, and some new stats are up.

Current Projected Tally:

Electoral VotesBush 290Kerry 248
Popular VoteBush 49.77%Kerry 49.23%

Scott Elliot does note some interesting things about this current data:

Kerry’s lofty numbers were falsely inflated by flattering news coverage and a non-active opponent in George W. Bush. The political climate has changed on both accounts.

Scott is a class act. I’m glad to see the E.P. is back and running strong

Election Projection From CNN/USA Today/Gallup Polling:
Interviews with 1,001 adult Americans, including 590 likely voters, conducted by telephone on March 26-28, 2004.

If the election were held today, 51% of likely voters would choose President Bush in a two-way race and 47% would pick John Kerry.

Its always nice to see the Command Post being so fair and balanced:
” Voters are starting to get acquainted with the real John Kerry, and to know him is to dislike him. More and more Democrats will come to understand that they vastly overestimated his “electability.” As for the President, his numbers have stabilized. His ads are reminding voters what a strong and capable leader he is. We should see a steady increase in the President’s lead until the Democratic National Convention in July. “

Or we could see that the Republican smear machine has taken down Kerry as far as he will go with their phoney baloney ‘flip-flopper’ meme, and Bush’s negatives will continue to go up as people realize that when he’s not flip-flopping, he’s either or selling out or lying. I predict that even Republicans will realize the true extent of his incompetnance and duplicity in his administrations relentless attacks on Clarke and by so seriously dropping the ball on terrorism when Bush came into office that 9/11 happened.

that quote is from the link provided in the article.

I honestly can’t recall anything positive Kerry has said he is for in this campaign. I’ve only heard and seen him engage in negative attacking of the President.

Not one positive thing.

Hate and anger won’t get it done. Must be his vision.

Posted by: Jeff at March 29, 2004 10:51 PM

How dare they use Kerry’s own words against him

Posted by: bob at March 29, 2004 10:54 PM

I agree, Kerry isnt so much a flip flopper as a knee jerker for voting cuts in defense and intelligence, as well as suborning US interests to the UN. The flip flopping is just a smoke screen.

Posted by: Mark Buehner at March 30, 2004 12:00 AM

Yes it is shocking that at the end of the cold war kerry voted to cut our cold war war machine. Truly shocking that Kerry voted to cut 1.5$billion from intelligence in the same year the Republicans voted to cut 3.8$ billion…
Ha ha ha, you Republicans are funny! Hey, maybe you will vote for the guy who promised not to touch the Social Security surplus, create Jobs, and now lower the deficit! Ha ha ha ha…

Oh, right Bush is always telling us positive things! Like the way his administration is positive that Richard Clarke is just a mean nasty person for telling all those true things about Bush’s incompetence in defending us from 9/11. ha ha ha ha!

Posted by: typhonus at March 30, 2004 12:42 AM

Link to “mean nasty” coming from a Bush official, please. They merely showed his own wide range of statements that contradict themselves, and his incorrect statements. Shocking.

Posted by: jones at March 30, 2004 06:48 AM

For folks like typhonus, putting the candidate’s own words against him is “negative campaigning” Voting records of sitting Senators is out of bounds. Lets face it, anything Bush does will just piss these folks off all the more. Its a catch 22 with these folks. Damned if you do, damned if you don’t

There is none so free as the damned.

As for Bush and Clarke, it was Clarke, just last August, before he had a book out, before his recent fame and celebrity, who was telling us what a great job the administration is doing combatting terrorism. So which Clarke do we believe? The one from August, or the one from last week?

I don’t mind different opinions in these comments, but can we please refrain from posting entire sections of candidate websites? If I wanted to read that stuff, I could go over there and read it. How about some of your own comments relevant to the posted article?

Typhonis - Note I did not quote that part of the author’s paragraph. I only wanted to point you to his newest poll. If you want to check on the way he conducts the poll, you may go to his site and view the documentation.

Also, please refrain from copying and pasting entire pages from websites. One or two sentences and a link will do.

Thank you.

Heeeey, reading through that really long and boring rant, I realized:

“Typhonus” might be Al Gore!

How ya doin’, Al?

You know, you can tell how irritated the Dems get, by how bizarre their rants get.

By the convention, it should be really interesting!

isnt that how dean got slaughtered? for the level headed this election is shaping out to be the lesser of two evils, again. last time we had gore, this time we have another screaming crybaby borderline communist.

Make no bones about it, Kerry Supporters, a lot of us Bush supporters do not think hes infallable, rather the honesty and straightforward no bullshit line from the Bush white house has been refreshing. bush says what he means and means what he says. “we’s gonna stop terrism and the spread of nuklear weapons” So he’s not a speach writer, but radical islamists are dying and going to heaven with their virgins every day without taking the lives of hundreds of innocent americans with them. Yes, yes, americans are dying in iraq… (but they aren’t innocent civillians) your high and mighty media probably doesnt report, if the military even releases, the # of enemy killed every day. The french would probably have a hissy fit.

Kerry will trip on his own hand grenade by november, mark my words.

Posted by: matt at March 31, 2004 01:14 PM

domestically, I have trouble blaming a president for the economy in a consumer and business driven economic climate like we have in the states, nevertheless lay whatever blame you want if you’re scratching so hard for shit to throw. Bush came into office on a slow economy then half of the economic center in new york fell to the ground and sht obviously rolled downhill, i’d say we’ve made a slow, but steady and sustainable recovery thus far.

Kerry says 3 million jobs in 500 days… doing what? paying everyone whose out of work 6$/hr to pick up highways for 6 months? i fail to see how a president can convince the private industry to take on more overhead than a less than perfectly robust economic situation can sustain…

No child left behind: doesnt seem to work
war on iraq: bitch all you want, everyone else agreed, just not on invasion, but everyone had the same intel. quit crying about your ‘lies’ like some 12 year old kid that didnt get his way
Economy: this isnta totalitarian state, stalin cant put us all back to work building tanks for the great war.
