| Make or Break Day in Wisconsin

The polls have opened in today’s Wisconsin primary and John Kerry goes into the day with a command lead in the polls, more than doubling the percentage of his nearest rival, Howard Dean.

The results of today could whittle down the field of candidates tomorrow. Dean has stated - and retracted the statement - that if he loses Wisconsin, he will drop out. Sources close to Dean say that no one knows for sure what will happen and even the Vermont governor himself doesn’t know what he will do if he loses this primary.

Stay tuned to The Command Post for exit polls, early numbers and final results.

Its easy to see what Dean will do. Ben of Ben & Jerry’s fame will push him into running as an Independent to cut Ralph Nader off at the knees, who looks like he may try the indy route himself.

Ralph and Howard should BOTH run as
Independents.

Why would Ice Cream Ben encourage Dean to run as an independent? That would just take Kerry support away, just as a Nader candidacy would. Ben wants no other candidate on the left to avoid splitting of Kerry’s support. A Dean candidacy would probably be even more dangerous to Kerry than a Nader candidacy.
