Edwards | Edwards: it's a two-man race

John Edwards on Larry King Live: “It looks like we did what we needed to do tonight.” Now Wisconsin is critical… “A very good head-to-head race between Senator Kerry and myself. … Going into March, it looks like it’s narrowed itself down into a two-person race now, and we’re excited about our chances.”

“[Kerry]’s in front, and I’m the underdog, and I’m fighting. … This is going to go on for many weeks to come. We’ve got the resources and the money. … We’ve had somebody who was already the front-runner who clearly isn’t anymore, and it could easily happen again.”

Yes, it is a two man race now between the #1 and #2 delegate winners: Kerry and Dean.

Time for Edwards to go home.

Clark is now out. If Dean has any sanity
he will quit also, but since he does not
appear to face reality, he will go at it
again in Wisconsin.

Can Edwards prevail? Doubtful. We will
see.

Ha ha cecil! A “race” implies motion, and Dean hasn’t been demonstrating much of that lately. Sure, Dean has a lot of superdelegates, most of whom I’m sure feel like idiots now that their front-runner is being rejected by the actual, voting Democrats at the ballot box. But Edwards is ahead 148 to 107 if you just count delegates won through the primarires up to now. Anyway, at the rate Dean is losing primaries, Edwards will have more delgates fairly soon.

Delegate totals are broken down on the canddidate pages accessible from the following page:
