It is Kerry but Edwards sorta slowed down intentionally, which was wise to keep from going into debt. If he could have put up a more aggresive campaign, he could be putting in a loader dent, but his rise was so fast and unexpected.

Kerry is the frontrunner but Dean still is second place, in terms of delegates. Both Dean and Edwards say in until the March 9th primaries. Edwards then withdrawls and Dean stays till the convention in July. His only hope is a picture of Kerry burning an American Flag. (hey they got him with Jane Fonda)
Oh and nobody can remember Clark by the 4th of July.

CNN said recently that they made a mistake over-playing Dean’s hawkeye-cauci speech. CNN sounds remorseful. I suspect their sorrow stems from the fact that a closer race would have increase viewership.

Yes, I think its all but wrapped up and John Kerry will be the democratic nominee.

What I don’t understand is, what exactly did Howard Dean say to get so far ahead early in the race that had any substance? Personally, all I heard was anti-war rhetoric coming at me in very large decibles through a microphone. And that got everyone energized?

Now what I’m hearing out of the democratic camp is anyone but Bush (which I agree with and I’m a republican), the complaining over jobs and healthcare, but not one candidate has yet to formulate a plan and say, America, this is what my strategy and beliefs are.

Kerry is counting on (1) the support of vets, and/or (2) that the Dem base is in love with his anti-war activities if the vet support thing doesn’t work out. I saw a talking head gush over how vets are flocking to him. I’m a vet and he makes me puke. Some of you young ‘uns don’t remember how bad it was back then…the anti-war crowd were scum, even if they had a few valid points.

His anti-war activities will seriously hurt him if he runs on his war record. If he gets some votes out of it from people who don’t look too hard, he’ll be happy. Be prepared for a typical Dem assault by a left-wing elitist. Oh, the humanity!

I can understand the urge to finish a primary season early in order to concentrate on the general election, but the clamor for candidates who haven’t won right away to leave the race bothers me. Primaries give the folks of Iowa and New Hampshire far too much influence in choosing a presidential nominee. In 2000 I suppored McCain but by the time I got to vote for him in CA, he was done.
