Bush | "Spontaneous" Campaigning
The Associated Press, via MSNBC.com, files an article about President Bush’s new campaign strategy. One where “spontaneous” visits to stores and restaurants occur after a presidential speech, on the way to the airport. The trips are, of course, not really spontaneous and are in fact planned well ahead of time. It appears to be part of President Bush’s campaign strategy of appealing to local media. This would certainly be to their advantage, since the local media is not as familiar with the details of ongoing investigations and media reports that flood and are integrated in NY and DC. It also explains the sharp contrast with the Kerry campaign which is open to questions at almost every stop, from both the public and the press. The “spontaneous” approach is nonetheless interesting in that the republican pundits seem oddly lock in lock steped comments. Posted by: Stuart Poss at February 10, 2004 08:47 PM Well, seeing as how Kerry has abandoned his real job (judging by his voting record this happened sometime in 1999), and the press refuses to ask him real questions, I guess he has a lot of time on his hands. I’ll bet Kerry looks real relaxed when he’s answering questions. But, then, the botox can get some of the credit for that. oops, gotta go now. The White House Talking Points Fax machine ™ is spitting out my new thoughts for tommorrow… Posted by: Dark Jethro at February 11, 2004 12:35 AM Post a comment
