Dean | Now Dean Won't Quit If He Loses Wisconsin
The New York Times reports that Dean has reversed his position and now says he will stay in the race even if he doesn’t win Wisconsin on February 17, 2004.
Then - February 5, 2004:
The entire race has come down to this: we must win Wisconsin. We must launch our new television advertisement on Monday in the major markets in Wisconsin. To do that, I need your help to raise $700,000 by Sunday. Please contribute $50 today so that we can reserve the air time…
We will get a boost this weekend in Washington, Michigan and Maine, but our true test will be the Wisconsin primary. A win there will carry us to the big states of March 2-and narrow the field to two candidates. Anything less will put us out of this race.
Now - February 9, 2004:
Asked today whether he would drop out if he lost next week, Dr. Dean said, “No.”

Dean lied, cheeseheads cried.
I stole that from “Politburo”.

It has less to do with him thinking he can actually win at this point than it does with him hoping he can blackmail clark or kerry into promises for Deans endorsement (for that 7%).
Geez why did it have to be Kerry? at least with clark i was fairly certain he wasnt going to get us killed if he got elected.

Ronin,
Dean is a Typical Democrat. Why do you
expect him to say anything truthful now?
In EVERY state (including Oklahoma) where
Clark has campaigned, he has started out
with high poll numbers on name recognition
alone.
In every case, where people listen to him and
find out more about him, his numbers have
DECLINED. South Carolina, New Hampshire
and Arizona are glaring examples.
His numbers today in Virginia and Tennessee are
much worse than when he started. Clark is a
horrible campaigner. He is as bad off as Dean
in that people find out about him and say not
only NO, but HELL NO!
