| Latest Iowa Poll Shows Statistical Deadheat
The latest Iowa numbers are out and it looks like a statistical deadheat between Dean and Gephardt. Dean is polling 29% and Gephardt 25%, with a margin of error of 5%. Surprisingly John Kerry is still polling well, holding on at about 18%.
Remember, polling for the Iowa Caucuses is always a little tricky. The nature of the caucus is such a different beast than the polling booth, that ordinary surveys would seem to have a hard time estimating how it will turn out. Voters have no privacy and can be persuaded on the spot to switch votes. It will be an interesting study to compare the actual result with all these poll numbers.
