Indeed, those are some very sad quotes. These people are so caught up in their war against Bush that they can’t give any congratulations to the men and women who finally tracked him down. This was a major positive milestone, and anyone who says otherwise obviously has another agenda beyond bringing stability and democracy to Iraq.

The most disturbing was, of course, the woman who was primarily concerned that this real-world event meant her fantasy candidate now had no chance of winning, because the people (gasp!) will choose Bush. No, she won’t accept that as a natural product of our Democracy, but will continue to hate Bush… remember, Democracy only works when it agrees with their worldview…

I’m curious whether you, or any of your ilk have been exposed to the fact that the claims made by Bush in support of the war are completely consistent with claims made by Bill Clinton in Feb of 1998, (the 23rd was it?), as well as by Hillary only a few days ago (where she pointed out that the claims have been pretty much consistent since the first Bush administration).

If Bush lied Clinton lied (about this too, I mean).

Have you simply not heard any of this, or do you avert your eyes, plug your ears, and shout “I can’t hear you. I can’t hear you…” when this is raised?

And how can you justify denouncing the direct pasting of a qoute as slander? Are you suggesting that this is in some way inconsistent with the tone of the average democrat-endorsing web site? It isn’t even inconsistent with the crap coming out of the major candidates’ mouths.

Hopefully, when the democrats get their asses handed to them in november, they will recognize it for the wake-up call it is and do some house cleaning. Until then they can keep their wackos, and that’s their option. But don’t complain when people point out that the DNC is full of nut-cases. As for Howie Dean, he’s already proven himself to be an opportunist who’ll say whatever he thinks people want to hear. That’s not leadership. That’s somebody who’s trying to get something out of you.

What if it’s NOT? What if something else is found? For instance, n last weeks’ Time magazine they did a big write up about a group of guerrilas their reporters followed around. The guerillas showed the reporters what they claimed to be rockets with chemical warheads.

The fact is, before the war the only link between Al Queda and Iraq that the administration claimed was one known Al Queda operative who received medical attention in Baghdad and Ansar al Islam in the north. That’s it.

To date, they’ve found all sorts of things, from details of Al Queda meetings wtih IIS to Arabic translations of Al Queda field manuals, none of which was known or even expected before the war.

And dude, they’ve barely scratched the surface in Iraq; they haven’t begun to find all the shit that that psychopath was into. And I don’t know about you, but I still haven’t heard a very convincing argument as to why Saddam would continue to give UNMOVIC the runaround if he DIDN‘T have any of these weapons. What was the point? He desperately wanted out from under the UN’s sanctions, why would he erect obstacles between him and his goal if he had nothing to hide?

Don’t look now, but you guys have put all your eggs in Saddam’s basket.
