2004 US Presidential Election
November 17, 2003
Clinton | Howard Fineman on a Clinton Convention
From MSNBC: THE SCENARIO, as sketched by this hard-boiled insider, calls for Clinton to make an entrance as healer and unifier at the end of the primary season in May or June in the unlikely--but not impossible--event that none of the existing contenders has amassed a majority of the convention delegates."You'd have to have Howard Dean not wrapping it up, and being an angry, wounded front runner," this adviser said. "You'd have to have two of the other challengers tearing each other apart in primary after primary. Then Hillary could come in, well in advance of the convention, and say, 'Look, somebody has to save the party'."I'm not sure that this is a plausible scenario. Read my response here. I want Hillary Clinton to run against President George W. Bush so badly. It would be great putting the ‘REAL’ Liberal Agenda out in the open against the Conservative Agenda. It would be great to do ‘REAL’ battle against the ‘REAL’ democratic candidate. The Liberals across America respect Hillary Clinton the most. It won’t matter what image Howard Dean receives by winning the Primary Season. Hillary will still trump him. If Bush is to win in 2004, it should be against Hillary. I want a ‘REAL’ challenge here! Posted by: Jeff MacMillan at November 17, 2003 03:39 PM Jeff, Hillary beats Bush to pulp in about every head to head poll I have seen. I challenge you to find one where Bush comes out on top… Hillary isnt necessary, Dean will be quite enough for Bush. Al Gore almost beat Bush, you make it seem like he is FDR… Posted by: What? at November 17, 2003 09:43 PM Don’t underestimate election 2000. Yes, it was a close election. But, the mere fact that an opponent that isn’t an incumbent beats out an incumbent during a near decade of a great economy. Think about it for a moment. President George Bush (elder) lossed the election against Bill Clinton due to the economy, even though Desert Storm went so well. The economy made Clinton win. Yet that same factor. The economy. Did not make Al Gore beat Bush! That is huge. And no. I have yet to see any legitamit poll putting Hillary head to head with President Bush. I can’t comment on the polls. I haven’t seen a single one I liked in terms of error percentage, accuracy, how the question was phrased, who was responsible for the poll, e.t.c. And when the economy continues to BOOM as it is booming right now. Hillary will slip and slide through the polls. It doesn’t matter what the polls say today. IT doesn’t matter what they say tomorrow. The election can sway either way in a single day near the election night. Posted by: Jeff MacMillan at November 17, 2003 11:11 PM Arnold Shwarzenegger is proof that Hillary Rodham can be beaten. Posted by: Jeff MacMillan at November 17, 2003 11:12 PM Real Conservative Agenda? From Bush? He’s a JFK Democrat- America First thru Big Government. Yes, I’ll vote for him, but I’m not fooling myself that he’s a conservative. Posted by: Huh? at November 18, 2003 11:01 AM Guys, the deadline has passed. Hillary cannot run. And what2, the fact that she is NOT in the race speaks to me more than any other thing that Bush will be reelected. If she thought she could beat him, she’d be running. Posted by: johnnymozart at November 18, 2003 01:51 PM JM, What deadline? What?(?) what polls? Posted by: jones at November 19, 2003 06:37 AM Jones, There are filing deadlines in order to run for President. Hillary has missed them. Thus, barring some legal acrobatics that could only hurt her campaign, she cannot run for Pres. in 2004. Posted by: johnnymozart at November 19, 2003 01:19 PM Oh, I thought they came due in Winter sometime. Thanks. Posted by: jones at November 19, 2003 06:28 PM The Clintons want the Dems to lose in ‘04 to clear the way for Hillary. If the Dems win, she’s toast. Nine years from now, she’s an old lady and yesterday’s news. Posted by: Frank at November 19, 2003 10:33 PM Hillary isn’t going to be our president ‘04. I see your arguement Frank, but lets face it. When Hillary gets in the voteing booth she definitily isn’t putting Bush on her ballot. I doubt the Clintons want Reps to win. As for Bush in 2004, I seriously hope not. Jeff do your self a favor… when arguing for Bush, don’t mention the economy. Paulie Posted by: Paulie at November 21, 2003 03:55 PM Take a look at this Jeff, then talk economy. http://www.bushwatch.com/economy.htm Posted by: paulie at November 21, 2003 04:03 PM Paulie ‘…when arguing for Bush, don’t mention the economy.’ Let me restate that for your consideration: ‘…when arguing AGAINST Bush, don’t mention the GWOT.’ Posted by: Cap'n SPIN at November 22, 2003 11:24 PM To all, If you want to see some polling data of H. Clinton v. Bush lemme know and I will look it up. The numbers were quite staggering. She would have an immense amount of support the numbers were around 60% of all dems a couple months ago. Dump on to that the fact that electing her would make her the first female president, the Clinton electability and you have a landslide on your hands. Posted by: what2 at November 29, 2003 02:24 PM I think Hillary would DEMOLISH Bush in a head-to-head scenario…In fact, I can’t think of anyone with more star-power than Hillary. She makes Bill look so small! Posted by: Bob at January 15, 2004 05:42 PM At WWDC, I listened to Apple representatives make some excellent points about taking the time to build a 100%-compliant Aqua application, and I think all developers need to look beyond the code and listen to what the folks at Apple have to say Posted by: Ingram at January 23, 2004 11:38 PM Adopt Sheets. I really like the use of Sheets in OS X. The use of Sheets lets me know which window my dialogue belongs to without hijacking my system. Posted by: Rosanna at January 23, 2004 11:39 PM To help you become a good Aqua citizen, Apple has created a few guidelines. I’ve put together a brief overview of them, and we’ll be tackling many of them in the months to come. Posted by: Benjamin at January 23, 2004 11:39 PM Dock Animation. Posted by: Clement at January 23, 2004 11:40 PM If an application is designed well, the reward for users is that they will learn it faster, accomplish their daily tasks more easily, and have fewer questions for the help desk. As a developer of a well-designed application, your returns on that investment are more upgrade revenue, reduced tech support, better reviews, less documentation, and higher customer satisfaction. The rewards of building a good-looking Aqua application are worth taking the extra time. Posted by: Sampson at January 23, 2004 11:40 PM By building an application that takes advantage of Aqua’s many facets, you help ensure that your application will not only look good, but have a chance of becoming a raging success. After a new user clicks on the icon of your program, the first thing he or she sees is the application interface. I know that when I review a product, I am very critical of its visual design. I usually have a short time to learn the new software, so design and ease of use are very important. Aside from those who marvel at the beauty of the command line, most users tend to react the same way. Posted by: Jenkin at January 23, 2004 11:40 PM Adhere to Window Models. Posted by: Geoffrey at January 23, 2004 11:40 PM Bush is a Hero. We are in the Military, and he has done great. I will vote for him again. Hillary wants to lower Military pay. We dont make very much money as it is. She sucks. Posted by: Diana at February 5, 2004 08:21 AM Post a comment
