Edwards | Edwards Tries to Capitalize on Dean's Goof

As a southerner, Edwards is in a unique position to capitalize on Dean's confederate flag snafu. From CNN:

"It's like saying to any group of voters ... you don't know what's best for you. We know what's best for you," Edwards said. "There's an elitism and condescension associated with that attitude that's enormously dangerous to us" and that voters want to be "treated with respect."

I watched Edwards on Meet the Press on Sunday,
November 9th.

As a combat veteran, I can NEVER, UNDER
ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, support the National
Democratic party presidential nominee. They
are too unconcerned about our country’s survival.

Just look at what happened under Clinton
where 18 Army divisions were reduced to 10.

However, Edwards seems to be the best of a
bad lot. (Yes, I know about Wesley Clark, but
there are too many career military men that
don’t trust Clark. They have their reasons and
that is what is scary!).

So, on the issue of the Country’s survival ——
Trust a Democrat…. Heaven forbid!!!

On the Confederate flag, as a Texan, I do not have
strong feelings either way! That may be because
I am from a family who had brothers and cousins
fighting for both the North and South over 100
years ago!

BUT, it was OVER a Century ago! It is past time
to move on to real issues such as improving
education, job training and other things that
really matter.

An example is civic training (such as how to
read a ballot or how to vote). Artificial issues
such as the Confederate flag are raised only
because they push an emotional trigger and
eliminate all rational thought.

On the other hand, that is really what Dean
and Edwards want, isn’t it?

Clinton’s Army did pretty well in Afghanistan using technology and training developed during the Clinton administration. I guess he and former secretary of defense Cohen did pretty well?

That being said, Bush is going to be in the hot seat with regard to veterans issues. He’s cutting funding and benefits to reservists, base schools, and especially veterans. If this becomes a campaign issues he’s going to be DOA. Dean has already said he does not want to cut defense funding, we all want and need a strong and agile military—fully equipped and prepared. But that is going to continue under either administration. The different lies in how will the military be deployed. Clark has his critics, but ALL generals do. It’s like a football coach, some of the players and a lot of the university administration is likely to complain—but when you win games, the alumni will keep giving you support! Clarks four stars and lifelong commitment to the military suggests and intimacy and awareness we haven’t seen in the office of president since Dwight Eisenhower.

There is no benefit in the gifts of a bad man.

Communism has nothing to do with love. Communism is an excellent hammer which we use to destroy our enemy.

I count the falling tears
They fall before my eyes
Seems like a thousand years
Since we broke the ties
I call you on the phone
But never get a rise
So sit there all alone
It’s time you realize …
