Lieberman | Lieberman Quits Iowa

Sorry about my absence of late. I've been a little tied up with personal stuff.

In a sign that things are tightening up for the Lieberman campaign (Lieberman's been losing ground in national polls) the Senator has decided to end his campaign operations in Iowa. This is in no way a sign of defeat; remember Wesley Clark never even started in Iowa for the same reasons, it's a waste of resources. Senator Lieberman will open up new offices in New Hampshire, as well as in Arizona, Oklahoma and South Carolina where he probably has a better chance and the benefits of a win are greater. But it is still a big question mark whether Leiberman can be successful in the South and West. His plain spoken manner may not be enough to overcome his Northeastern credentials, which have little currency in there.

Am I the only one that sees this? Joe Lieberman pulling out of Iowa is huge in that his chances for winning are just about shot.

There was no chance President George W. Bush could have beaten John McCain in HIS primary state and he didn’t. But, George W. Bush never pulled out!

A real* presidential contender *never just pulls himself out of a state’s primary race! That’s ridiculous. It’s goes to show that Joseph Liberman was never and is not Presidential Material.

Jeff,

I DO NOT disagree with your thought, but Iowa
is important ONLY to Media Types. It is a CAUCUS
STATE only, not a Primary. As a result, it requires
a massive investment of time and resources to
achieve results that are TOTALY Not similar to
anything, anywhere else in the U.S.

Jimmy Carter happened to start in Iowa in 1976
and the Democratic lemmings have not had
the brains to change since then. It really is a
case of “Dumb” and “Very, Very Dumb” Ha!

I count the falling tears
They fall before my eyes
Seems like a thousand years
Since we broke the ties
I call you on the phone
But never get a rise
So sit there all alone
It’s time you realize …
