So in a sense, California had it’s own little red vs. blue map, like the one they enjoyed trotting out every 3 days after the 2000 election.

This is heartening in the sense that the entire state isn’t nuts, just the coast line. The Inland Empire, the folks who have to live with one bad Sacramento decision after another - they’ve had ENOUGH. Arnold is by no means the ‘perfect’ candidate, but more importantly, he’s NOT Gray Davis.

Perhaps the folks that have moved to California from every planet in the country are living on the coast?

(PS, if Dan Quayle had said anything that bizarre, it would be on the CNN crawl 24/7 from the time it was uttered until now - Boy howdy, they look out for their own, don’t they?)

torpedo.. you may be on to something. I mean why else would anyone want to LIVE here in the beautiful state of CA? Aren’t we all “livin’ on the beach, surfing and kickin’ back”? that’s what most non-CA residents tend to believe.

You would have thought, by looking at the map, that GD would have been saved by that. I thought most Calipornians lived by the shore.

Anyway glad he’s out. Why do all the freaks live by the ocean?

bhopper, After we recision the thick facia of sarcasm surrounding your statement, methinks thou dost believe I come to my conclusions without merit.

However, I visit your lovely state 4 or 5 times each year and maybe I’m too close to Hermosa Beach or something, but there are a LOT of people engaged in the ‘surfing, kicking back’ lifestyle.

Don’t get pissy. There is no equivalent on the planet I’m from. Perhaps you are from one of the other planets.

Live long and prosper.

AJ, Such mean-spiritedness - don’t you want to distinguish yourself from Michael Moore and Al Franken?

Let’s not laugh at dead democrats, let’s hope they all get smarter and drop their socialistic tendencies. We could use all the help we can get.

Dennis Kucinich formerly declared today.

Gee, it’s quiet.

Wow, a couple of those “red” counties are really pretty close to being green to. 51% in his home county of Los Angeles? And there’s a couple up north too. I think it’s safe to say that Davis lost his governorship when he failed to carry these traditional Democratic strongholds more strongly.

Incidentally, good riddance to him.

What is even more interesting is the county by county MARGINS of win. With one exception, the red are marginal wins, while most of the green are landslides.
