| Latest Polling Data: General Election

From the Washington Post poll:

Read the full poll and get the statistical nitty-gritty here; there are a wealth of tracking data, including comparative rankings of economic performance, do we need to kill / capture Saddam to be successful, etc.

Useless poll. You’re always going to get more votes for an unnamed contender against an encumbant than you would with a specific candidate. 48% is probably Bush’s base right now. If the election were next week he would probably win over another 10-12% of the electorate as soon as his opponent opened his mouth.

Even democrats are still voting for “someone else” over the names of the 9 candidates given. A poll that measures the “anyone but Bush” vote doesn’t give a true picture of the race.

The longer there are 9 of them, the harder it will be for unions and special interests to pick the winner. No one wants to plop their money on a loser.

Funny how the governor’s race is a farce in CA, but we have to take Dennis Kucinich “seriously”. What, like we have to take Larry Flynt “seriously”?

My guess is, if no one drops out by Christmas, the DNC will be looking for “volunteers”. Time’s a wastin’.

I do not fear computers. I fear lack of them.
