2004 US Presidential Election
July 20, 2003
Dean | Dean's For Real, But Can He Win?
That's the question posed this morning by my hometown Philadelphia Inquirer. Read the article here; it offers a decent Dean position summary. Here's a taste: It's tough to pinpoint when Dean caught fire as a presidential candidate, but it may have been the February day in Washington when he served up red meat to a ballroom of Democrats who were sick of defeat and hungry for inspiration. Dean has that fire in the belly that no other dem candidate has. He also holds credibility since his stance on Iraq has remained the same throughout the conflict…. Posted by: Mike at July 20, 2003 01:56 PM Dean also panders to the National Rifle Association but because he is the anti-war candidate, extremist liberals who vehemently hate the NRA but vehemently opposed the War are willing to ignore this fact. Posted by: Jeff at July 20, 2003 02:40 PM No. He can’t win. He’s already commited presidential suicide. Might buy himself a senate seat down the road though. Posted by: Mark Buehner at July 21, 2003 12:39 AM I think that Dean can win. In order to do so, there would have to be a large voter turnout and Bush would have to make a few more mistakes along the way. He must win over the support of the liberal party activists to get the nomination and then eschew them after he has secured it. Then he needs to follow a three proned attack on Bush, hammer him, hammer him some more, and then hammer him into submission. He must be specific in his attacks on Bush and and take a general, feel good, “we the people” approach to his own plans once in office. He must threaten the American people with severe economic loss if Bush and his minions are allowed to stay in power and he must portray himself as being strong enough to take these people on. If he can do this and stick to his plan of attack, he has a very good chance of taking on Bush, even in the South and the West. Try to confuse people by separating fly specs. Paul said, “He must win over the support of the liberal party activists to get the nomination and then eschew them after he has secured it.” Typical liberal move. Tell ‘em what they want to hear….then ignore them after you’re elected. Paul said, “Then he needs to follow a three proned attack on Bush, hammer him, hammer him some more, and then hammer him into submission. “ Hammer him by twisting what he says and does. Don’t let up….eventually people might believe the lies. Paul said, “He must be specific in his attacks on Bush and and take a general, feel good, “we the people” approach to his own plans once in office.” yeah…act like you speak for the majority, when you know you speak for a very small minority. Paul said, ” He must threaten the American people with severe economic loss if Bush and his minions are allowed to stay in power and he must portray himself as being strong enough to take these people on. “ “I’ll save you from those that want to take away your social security, medicare, and your rights.” Paul said, “If he can do this and stick to his plan of attack, he has a very good chance of taking on Bush, even in the South and the West.” How can you look yourself in the mirror when you base your whole mission in life on lies and unjust character asassination. Losers. Posted by: Jeff B at July 26, 2003 09:59 AM All we are hearing is HOW DEAN’S GONNA ATTACK BUSH…Hey-wait a minute my friends…WAIT TILL BUSH!-COMES out firing at dean. It will be a Bush Victory by 2-1 margin. Posted by: Wm.L. at January 4, 2004 12:58 PM Post a comment
