Latest Polling Data: General Election

The interesting finding here: while the President's "favorables" are down 9 points, his "unfavorables" have held steady. The movement is to those who say "depends." This traditionally reflects increasing uncertainty among former supporters ... draw your own conclusions if the war or economy has greater weight in the "depends" equation. The huge “depends” percentage strikes me. Depends on what? Obviously nothing Bush can do, the question specifically says “today,” so “I wanna see what Bush does in the next year” should be ignored. Not that it will be, but it should be.

Which means the depends is mostly people looking at the outcome of the Democratic primary. If the “right democrat” wins the primary, Bush is in trouble.

Luckily, there doesn’t appear to be a “right democrat”, (either interpretation of right) running in the primaries.
