Bob Graham Eyes Potential Grounds For Bush Impeachment
Really. Turnabout, as they say, is fair play ... and it seems this election may be getting serious. From Yahoo / Reuters: U.S. Democratic presidential candidate Bob Graham said on Thursday there were grounds to impeach President Bush if he was found to have led America to war under false pretenses. Sorry Bob, hard to understand you with you drooling that much and all. Good grief, you can practically feel Graham’s erection from here. Posted by: johnnymozart at July 18, 2003 09:32 AM JM That’s exactly what I meant about this crop of democratic candidates turning into clowns. Posted by: Seth at July 18, 2003 02:58 PM Looking at the current polls posted here, it’s the same story, “The Mujer Enganada” of the former admin way out in the lead. Posted by: Seth at July 18, 2003 03:12 PM These democrats are simply unbelievable.Borrowing a line from the “American President” with Michael Douglas I believe, “we have serious problems that demand the attention of serious people” These idiots just dont get it. No need to talk so early, but I venture to say Bush wins the election by 13-18 percentage points if not more Posted by: atomicdog at July 18, 2003 04:26 PM I voted Republican, and I’m not ashamed of that, but I was ashamed at how the Republican party treated Clinton, and I think it would behoove the Democratic party to show that they are above such petty nonsense. Tu quoque is neither a logical nor a moral justification for anything. Posted by: TBox at July 18, 2003 04:51 PM Lets review SOME of the 2003 BUSH LIES: “We’ve found the weapons of mass destruction” “We went to war becouse Sadam wont let the weapons inspectors in.” that the CIA didn’t doubt the uranium story until after he gave the speech (Bush’s position was at odds with those of his own aides, who acknowledged that the CIA raised doubts that Iraq sought to buy uranium from Niger more than four months before Bush’s speech.) “Intelligence gathered by this and other governments leaves no doubt that the Iraq regime continues to possess and conceal some of the most lethal weapons ever devised.” “My jobs and growth plan would reduce tax rates for everyone who pays income tax,” (and of course it didnt) Ari Fleischer, Bush’s mouthpiece additionally had these whoppers this year alone: prisoners of war at Guantanamo were “receiving far far better treatment than they received in the life that they were living previously” “[D]uring the campaign the president did not express, as you put it, disdain for nation-building” (which bush most certainly did) Bush had to fly to that aircraft carrier becouse it was “hundreds of miles offshore” and too far for to use a helicopter. It turns out the Lincoln was 30 miles off shore. And of course theres the rest of Bush’s administration: ‘the war will cost only 50-60 billion dollars.’ Oh yeah and the guy who said it would be 100 to 200 billion got fired. So in response the numbscull crowd is saying its not as bad as Bill Clinton. Clinton lied about getting a blow job. Now you right wing apologists tell us that it doesnt matter that BUSH LIED TO THE COUNTRY about the need to go to war and got 137 americans killed already. Sure theres a difference. What Bush did is clearly much worse! Bush campaigned on integrity, now your saying its okay that Bush lied becouse in comparison he’s not as big a liar as Clinton??? Or better yet, its okay that Bush lied becouse he was just repeating the gossip that the British reported to him?? In short, thanks for clarifying: The Buck no longer stops here, it stops in england. And if you see clinton, thats where it stops since this is still obviously his fault. Way to have integrity bush! Way to have integrity republicans!! Posted by: Aaron at July 18, 2003 06:56 PM Okay whats the difference between this page and this link: Posted by: Aaron at July 18, 2003 10:35 PM Aaron, the permalink you posted is the archived version of this post before we switched databases today … it has the old comments thread. Posted by: Alan at July 18, 2003 10:43 PM aaron… u did not get one fact straight… not one never said we were going to war because saddam would not let the inspectors in although most of us dont care, Saddam is a weapon of mass destruction Reread bush’s cinti speech then comment u idiot prisoners are getting better treatment in cuba who cares the world is not a static place, if we gotta rebuild nations so be it no finite answer to improve the lousy economy that bush inherited although interest rates are low and the stock market seems to be stabilizing 11 years of violating UN mandates is enough to go to war Dont care if he took a chopper to visit the carrier or a jet he is the president Better than getting a haircut at LAX airport that shut down all traffic for two hours and cost millions o dollars go billy does not matter what the issue is Clinton lied under oath… big difference lets see what shakes down in iraq minimally sadaam wont be killing tens of thousands of his own people anymore The small part about this uranium thing was just that …small. Even the inspectors said sadaam was not being forthcoming. We have found scud missles and mobile labs this dont count? and mass graves. me thinks aaron is enamored with billy boys privates Have fun aaron get your facts straight before commenting. By the way aaron… your Billy.. a number of times said saddam needed to be taken out Posted by: atomicdog at July 18, 2003 10:59 PM Aaron: To repeat myself (which I must do after being archived): in 2002, everyone agreed that Saddam had to go. Democrats and republcans voted to give Bush the power to wage war (though constitutionally that was impossible - don’t ask). In other words, many of the dems today who are saying we went to war under false pretenses knew with damning certainty in 2002 that Saddam needed to go. What changed? We still have the testimony of those who worked on his WMDs, chemical, biological, and nuclear. We know (because Saddam’s people told the UN) that Iraq possessed sarin, tabun, VX, mustard gas and blistering agents. This wasn’t faulty intelligence, this was a document filed with the UN by the government of Iraq. We know Iraq would have had their Big Gun built and pointed at Israel if German and Mossad intelligence hadn’t interrrupted the final shipments from Germany. We know Iraq would have enough fissionable material for several A-bombs if Israel hadn’t bombed their French-built reactor in 1981. In the face of such overwhelming evidence, EVEN a majority of the democratic party in Congress voted to oust this guy LAST YEAR. Don’ t think VX isn’t one of the “most lethal weapons ever devised”? Then I have some perfume for you. What’s changed? The war is over and the campaign has begun. Democrats are behaving like democrats. They will now abandon all their pre-war “united front” crap and hope we all forgot they gave the go-ahead on this war. “I was tricked, tricked into believing Iraq was a threat. And Bush tricked me, that liar!! There were NEVER any WMDs!! We killed all those innocent boys for nothing! Iraq was harmless.” And who, except your blind followers, are swallowing all this? Posted by: torpedo_eight at July 18, 2003 11:33 PM U.S. Democratic presidential candidate Bob Graham said on Thursday there were grounds to impeach President Bush if he was found to have led America to war under false pretenses What a dumb ass!!!!! Posted by: Herb at July 19, 2003 12:45 AM Aaron responds: However Bush didnt go before the nation and say we’re going to liberate Iraqis. Bush said ‘WE HAD TO GO BECOUSE HIS WEAPON’S PROGRAM WAS AN IMMINENT THREAT.’ THIS WAS A LIE. THATS THE F‘IN ISSUE. ANS INSTEAD OF ADMITTING THE MISTAKE THEYVE CHOSEN TO LIE. Bush and his cronies picked and chose among the available intel to make his case. And when they felt that their case wasnt strong enough they reached into the garbage pile for a big helping. Geez Cheney had this issue investigated personally. And as for the democrats going along with it: well here’s a theory for you: BUSH’S LIES WORKED. They made the difference. If Bush had said ‘he’s not complying with 1441 but I want to invade’ would congress have approved?? If Bush had said ‘Sadam is a monster to his people’ would congress have approved the invasion??? The answer: I dont know! But thats not what he said. Instead of telling the truth he chose to lie. Its what his administration does! Here’s a quick question: Your cars transmission starts making an occasional horrible sound when your driving. You bring it to a mechanic. The mechanic says : “This is an emergency and youve got to deal with this problem and replace this transmission right this second or you will seriously regret it.” It costs 2 grand. On his warnings you spend the money. Later your old tranmission is being autopsied. Turns out that while it made the horrible sounds, it may never have broken! And it turns out that your mechanic knew this. Your out 2 grand that you could ill afford. What do you do? What do you do? Clearly the Bush answer is to make up excuses for why the mechanic didnt know and blame the previous mechanic. As for me, I’d find a different mechanic. In the meantime, where exactly does the buck stop??? Posted by: Aaron at July 19, 2003 04:24 AM Aaron replies to AtomicDog: Regarding your first poin: oh, look heres an official whitehouse.gov page: http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2003/07/20030714-3.html looking at the last para you can see how my second quote is accurate, as are all the other “direct quotes” I provided. The point is that Bush and his admin Lie. They Lie alot. They Lie about important issues. and you are ready to replace Ari Fleisher as Bush’s official liar. Hope you can write better then we see here. Good luck with that. Posted by: Aaron at July 19, 2003 04:46 AM If the best you can come up with for lies are areas where Bush disagrees with leftists, you are in for a long haul trying to make any traction against Bush. And the tax cut did cut taxes for everyone who pays income taxes, which is what he meant, and you know it. That is why what you think matters so little. It is so transparent. Posted by: Spawn at July 19, 2003 04:15 PM Aaron: Your missive: “Hope you can write better then we see here. Good luck with that.” Don’t you mean “…than we see here.”? Suggest you not nitpick. Regards Posted by: torpedo_eight at July 20, 2003 12:00 AM There are 8.1 million americans who pay taxes who wont be getting a tax cut despite Bush’s (mis)statement to the contrary. Posted by: Aaron at July 20, 2003 03:04 AM Aaron Is that Americans who pay taxes, or simply American adults? Posted by: Seth at July 20, 2003 04:50 AM Aaron’s referring to payroll taxes (SS, Medicare), and yes, they won’t be cut. Only Federal taxes are being cut. But it’s not a bad idea. Any tax cut is a good tax cut. Let’s cut SS and Medicare while we’re at it, give everyone a chance to privatize their SS contributions and save the next generation from bankruptcy. What a noble thought. Posted by: torpedo_eight at July 20, 2003 08:12 AM Aaron…..You are an uninformed, truth twisting embicile. That is the ‘nice’ things I have to say. Seth, torpedo, you guys should be ashamed of yourselves…..having a ‘battle of wits’ against an unarmed man. :) Posted by: Jeff B at July 26, 2003 11:13 AM Post a comment
