The Buzzwords Of Al Sharpton
The series of Buzzword articles at Slate continues tonight, with those of Al Sharpton. Read it here.
Constitutional Right
Example: "If Charlton Heston can have a constitutional right to carry a rifle, why can't grandma have a constitutional right to health care—and therefore the pharmaceutical industry, and for that matter the medical services industry, have to be governed by a constitutional commitment to give Americans those rights?" (NPR's Morning Edition, June 13, 2003).
What it means: To guarantee entitlements, we must write them into the Constitution.
What it hides: The government doesn't pay for Heston's rifle.
Subtext: If the furnace is busted, we lefties might as well go crazy with the thermostat.

Seth! YOU ‘crack’ me up! Of course, maybe Al will turn you on to his supplier, if you keep rappin’ thataway…

I think you guys must be on crack. Its idiotic to make unfounded comments about REVERAND Sharpton when your precious George Dubya has a proven record of coccaine addiction, and a daughter who constantly gets taken in for under-age drinking(though I guess shes free to drink up now that shes 21). so the Reverand has made some grammatical errors, and has a habit of interupting people. through out this campaign he has kept a civil tongue.

Andee! Are we talkin’ about the same fellow here? His Church - Would that be the Fellowship of What’s Happenin’ Now?
And while we’re on the campaign besmirchin’ trail here, where did you dig up the cocaine addiction bit from? YOUR crack pipe? He’s a rapper, Andee, and I wouldn’t be lookin’ to this ‘fellow’ to be makin’ any serious inroads on the DemoNomination.

This guy is loony tunes. His “fame” comes from using a young woman’s lies to pull the spotlight on himself as a “champion of the little people”. To call him a reverand borders on blasphemy.
He is a bigger liar than Bill Clinton, and that is hard to do. If the black people would shitcan him and Jesse Jackoff, and find some real leaders, their cause would be miles ahead.

I am new to the internet and I am surfing here and this is very interesting reading. I did a search in the search engines on “pub bars blog” and I found your web blog and although your blog isnot what I was looking for, it was very interesting reading.
I am researching blogs as I was interested in a blog for myself, that is if I can understand how to operate a blog. The different things discussed on this website found by searching for “pub bar blog” is very amusing and from seeing and understanding more of how a blog operates, it may be more than this Halifax pub guy to handle so I am going out to the bars.
thanks for the insight
see you at the pub ( some call it bar! )
